I started as Archer, on pc really you need to use a controller, and the lack of precision v mouse means I'm not too keen on it. Going to switch to Fighter once it lets me.
I went for Archer, which is pretty different from how I'd normally play a game like this, but once I got into the headspace I started to really enjoy hanging back and popping off arrows.
Since pawns are in danger of death, seems like a Fighter- tank or a Mage-healer is a way to control the fight.
Its very easy to switch classes at an inn so don't worry too much if you think you chose the wrong one. The unable to start a new game drama doesn't really cause a problem in relation to this and you can change very very early on.
