While the mission board is quite lucrative for manufactured mats, they're mostly grade 4 or 5, while you can trade them down, it's time consuming to go to a mat trader to do that, and your grade 5 mats get depleted.
what i do is mine wanted ships for manufactured mats, i have 2 mat mining ships, a T10, and a corvette, both are engineered and built for efficient mat mining.
my prefered ship is a g5 corvette called "cavity search", and i quite often take it to hazres to gather low and mid range manufactured mats, it's good fun and you get the bounties from the kills.
here's a run in "cavity search" it's focus is stand and deliver, no fancy dancing as that inhibits the limpets and the prize is the mats, here's an ammo run in hazres.
remember, if it's not engineered it's not worth flying.
