the other day I was wondering how long it takes to reach a distance of 5,000 LY in Elite Dangerous obviously by scanning systems and doing some exobiology

I made a live and then uploaded it to YouTube where I leave from Shakal from the Doi Station space station with the Mandalay and go to a distance of 5,000 Light Years, in total with the engineered ship there are about 64 jumps all in about 3 hours 35 minutes, obviously my ship jumps up to 90 LY

as you can see in the video posted above it took me a couple of hours to reach my destination, along the way I scanned various systems and some plants that I found on some planets (not all of them otherwise it would have taken me three times as long)

what happened during this trip?

basically I arrived at my destination with all the modules intact without even using an AFM the ship is exceptionally maneuverable and the temperatures don't rise too much even if you are in Supercruise Overcharge.

obviously to reach the 90 LY jump I recommend using the Frame Shift Driver V1 (SCO) class 5A, the one you can get from the Technology Broker because it has better stats than the Frame shift drive SCO class 5A, moreover it is already Engineered with the Jump Range and the Mass Manager, but it is not enough you also need other modules such as the Thruster, power plant and Power distributor adequate also a Fuel Scoop class 6A and the Guardian Frame Shift Drive.

obviously the modules must be engineered at least as far as the power distributor and the Power Plant are concerned, I also recommend using the Pre-engineered Surface Detailed Scanner that you can always find from the Technology Broker as it will allow you to scan the planets more quickly.

if you want to explore this ship is perfect because it has a high jump range, it also doesn't overheat too much and is also easy to drive, once I reached the destination I went back doing 63 jumps, the result was several First Discovered, First Mapped and First Footfall made for a total of over 200 Million

for exobiology I scanned only a few seedlings, at least the quickest ones to find.

obviously if I scanned everything it would have taken me over 6 hours of live , some things like bacteria finding 3 to scan is a bit long so I avoided them.

in the meantime I plan to make other trips always with distances not exceeding 5,000 LY and then prepare myself with the long trip but to do that I will need at least the Fleet Carrier which currently costs 5 billion credits
