Having the GM’s roam nullsec and watching them on stream was fun but maybe next year they could solo roam HighSec (on stream or not?) in the area’s for the day where they drop their cans and be suspect, so we can hunt them that way.

I personally think they should have a GM trivia stream! Using Imminent Entropy's trivia tech would be awesome!

That would be fun! How do you envisage it working?

Here's an event that would be scheduled and publicized ahead of time. All the GMs would start out at Jita flying something battlecruiser sized or larger.

Starting at a safespot, they would flag themselves suspect and set off towards a pre-announced destination ~10 jumps away. Capsuleers need to stop them from reaching their destination. They could have added requirements if needed, such as visit certain landmarks en-route. Each GM would have to fend for themselves, make it fun for them too by turning it into a race.

Each GM would have some goodies in their cargo to drop upon their destruction, but also contract an amount of plex to both the person who dealt top damage, and final hit (allowing people to earn rewards is better than having ninja looters scooping the rewards).

The event could be called The GM's GM. The Game Master's Great Migration.

Ladies and gentlemen, we have a winner.

Two ideas - I have run both before (to a degree) and they can be quite fun :)

GM fleet vs EVE vs GM fleet

This is a concept that I have run a couple of times.

  • x2 fleets (call it fleet A, fleet B) are formed, of the same comp / doctrine - same numbers everything - a mirror comp.

  • Both fleets yeet, and each FC advises the other of their yeet location, with fleet A setting desto to Fleet B, and fleet B to A.

  • The midpoint of the journey is the staging point for the GM fleet vs GM fleet.

  • The twist here is, they have to get to the staging point, so will have to use their wits to do so so as to not lose ships in unnecessary engagements along the way - hey this is EVE after all.

There are a number of possible outcomes / tasks along the way;

  • instant death, other team is the winner

  • #number of kills along the way

  • #total isk destroyed before staging

  • #pilots killed

Megaman

Kudos to Luggy and El Geo for this one! - they came up with the concept, but I added some rules for ease!

A fun game of coordination, and theorycrafting with not enough mods!

  • Start the night with only 1 high 1 mid & 1 low slot fitted to all ships

  • full rigs and drones

  • start putting on the modules of whatever you kill - this will allow for some odd and unconventional fits, also allows for teamwork and collaboration

  • Dictors allowed bubble & MWD but no ewar

Ratting & looting:

  • looting of wrecks on gates is allowed

  • ratting in belts and on gates is allowed

  • probing is encouraged to scan mobile depots and MTUs for loot

Interceptors:

  • swap 1 high slot to 2mids

everyone needs to bring mobile depots to allow for refits

  • only1 module added per ship per kill so that it spreads evenly between people

  • work together to optimise fits, collaborate for the best possible outcome

  • any ship welcome – don’t fly what you can’t afford to lose!

Ooh these sound fun. I'm going to get in touch about that fleet hosting bounty we discussed in the next couple of days. Let's make it happen!

FUN INC I'm writing up the curated content, and I have a question on the GM fleet vs EVE vs GM fleet idea:

Am I right in thinking that the actual goal of each fleet is to reach the starting location of the other fleet? If so, how would these elements "#number of kills along the way, #total ISK destroyed before staging, #pilots killed" be weighted when working out the winner? And would 'first ships/fleet to reach its destination' also be a factor?

FUN INC's avatar

See below - fleet A yeets to RED, and Fleet B yeets to YELLOW - the goal is to meet the midway point of the two fleets which is PURPLE.

Fleet A could take a variety of routes - the northern route, or the southern route.

Likewise, Fleet B could take the southern route or the northern route - effectively sneaking up behind or going straight in!

The overall aim is to destroy as much isk on the way - but be left with a combat effective fleet for when you reach purple.

you could look at ships destroyed, isk destroyed, zkill points and so on. I usually just go with the isk amount destroyed.

Thank you! Is this accurate?

GM fleet vs EVE vs GM fleet

@funinc suggested two different ideas. He has trialled both and can attest to their fun. The first of them is a GMvPvGM battle complete with multiple outcomes and challenges. Here are the rules:

  1. Two mirrored fleets, Fleet A and Fleet B, are formed with identical composition, numbers, and doctrine.

  2. Both fleets yeet, and each FC advises the other of their yeet location, with Fleet A setting its destination to Fleet B, and vice versa.

  3. The midpoint of the journey is the staging point for the battle of the fleets.

  4. The twist is that each fleet must reach the staging point. They can take whichever route they choose but will have to use all their wits so as not to lose ships in unnecessary engagements en route. To this rule, funinc adds: “hey, this is EVE after all.”

If one of the fleets is destroyed, the other fleet is the winner. If, however, neither fleet is completely destroyed, then one of following criteria would determine the victor:

  • total ISK destroyed before staging

  • number of kills along the way

  • pilots killed

Perhaps make it clearer that the midpoint is where fleet A and fleet B slug it out to the death! :D

I propose something akin to the 1v1 events that we used to have in the arenas.

Players can enter in advance and the top 16 or 32 pilots in qualifiers could be drawn against GMs. Then the competition advances to see if the regular pilots can best the GMs.

Stream it and offer big prizes. Or just for pride and bragging rights!
