Battle in Ignoitton: A Detailed Combat Report

Overview

On July 14, 2024, the Ignoitton (0.4) system in Sinq Laison witnessed a colossal clash involving 1,455 pilots. The battle raged for two and a half hours, resulting in an impressive loss of 1.9 trillion ISK. This report details the key events, losses, and aftermath of the conflict.

Participants

The battle saw two main factions:

  • Deepwater Hooligans [BIGAB] Coalition: Comprised of Deepwater Hooligans, Pandemic Horde, and Shadow Cartel, fielding a total of 449 pilots.

  • Nullsecers: Including The Initiative., Snuffed Out, and Goonswarm Federation, with a force of 987 pilots.

Key events

The engagement began at 19:33 ET and lasted until 22:03 ET. BIGAB's initial plan was to destroy Snuffed Out's Metenox Moondrill, an anchor point for the whole conflict. The drill was heavily damaged and a lone Snuff's Apostle was repairing it, an obvious (now) bait.

  1. BIGAB's send a Battleship fleet with about 60 pilots to take down Apostle

  2. Snuffs respond with 38 Battleship and additional Apostle

  3. BIGAB's brings in anti-sub cap dread fleet.

  4. Snuffs get massive capital's support from Init's

  5. BIGAB's fleet is trapped.

Battle Timeline

  1. At 20:02 ET Deepwater Hooligans lost their first capital. Apostle | perfectsim1 | Killmail | zKillboard

  5. 21:02 ET last Moros from Snuffed Out got destroyed.

  6. 21:29 ET last Zirnitra from Deepwater Hooligans got destroyed.

  7. Baatlefeeld sweeping. till about 22:00 ET.

The intensity of the conflict is evident from the number of ships lost and the ISK value destroyed, with a speed of about 750b ISKs per hour.

Losses

  • Deepwater Hooligans Coalition:

    • ISK Lost: 1.07 trillion

    • Ships Lost: 380

    • Inflicted Damage: 115 million

  • Nullsec Coalition:

Recently we cleared out our first C5 farm hole.
But since the last patch, capital ratting is needed to get the extra isk.
The Farmhole stuff is kind of a strange idea to me.

Anyway...
Everything was cool until the worstplayerever choosed this C5 to continue his nomadic wormhole life.

Round 1

We found the POS very quickly and engaged you can watch the fight here:

If you watch the VOD you can see which we missed transversal and the HAW Dread hammers into our Logi Loki. Shredding it apart.
The local tank of this beast is massive  but we still give it a try to grind it down.

Anyway we give a fair fight and face our death.
Knowing we need to deal with this thread to secure our new farm.

We Lost ~20B and 29 Ships to a single Moros Navy Issue here.

BUT.. this didn´t hold us back to remove the guns on the POS and force the Moros for another fight on the 21.06.24

Round 2

Both sides made their preps, we staged Anti-Cap dreads and so the next fight began.

We held the moros for about 1 Hour and closed all the holes to make sure we don´t get any surprises. Once we sure we dropped the Hammer and warped PNI, ZIN in.
worstplayerever responded with a FAX and a lot of neuts…

Due to some Pizza delivery AFK-Luck we killed the FAX but long before that they neuted our ZIRN so dry that it just died of old age.

The Moros went his way and we didn´t dig deeper.

Thank you very much for this fight <3

Our fleet was out conducting some defence of a skyhook and ESS and we recieved word that a hostile Rokh fleet was tackled and bubbled. This fight then followed!

Battle Overview

This battle was one of many battles that are currently leading up to some major fights in U-QVWD including an up and coming Keepstar kill timer. This battle involved almost 900 players in Pandemic Hordes supposed staging system.

In the lead up to the fight, territorial and infrastructure units were reinforced and subsequently destroyed with a new Keepstar ancored on grid with the enemy keepstar.

The fight started with hostile Rokhs bubbled and tackled. While Brave and Goonswarm and friends bridged in to kill the Rokh fleet and reinforce the moon drill. With the enemy fleet pinned down 90 enemy Rokhs were destroyed.

Total combined losses 60bn for a moon drill defence.

Was this worth defending? Would they return?

The drill was subsequently destroyed the next day!

Eaglefirefly thanks for the entry! The video is great, but to win a prize, could you make a couple of changes:

1. We're looking for a bit more context for and breakdown of the battle. I realise lots of the data is in the zkill report, but check out the winning May and June entries for the sort of analysis we're looking for.
2. Have you connected your YouTube account? You should receive the 'original' banner if you have.
