Most players seem to think I've already served on the CSM. But I haven't. I did run once and just missed the cut-off. But I'm sticking to my guns and my honest belief that I'm much more useful out here in the wild. I can do so much more for the community and the game outside the walls of the CSM than I can do inside. Plus, tbh, so many CSM members end up quitting the game after they serve - and I don't want to do that. :)
Honestly I think the CSM is a bit of an echo chamber for nullsec players and it's never really made much of an impact. Without some serious revamping to allow for a greater diversity of voices (when it comes to HS, LS null and wormhole players) I really don't think it will change much.
Are any JA members going? Me'n'alts are ready to support with voices
I applied a few years back - CSM 17 iirc and came in top 20 iirc - and toyed with last year, but had to rule it out because of RL, work, and study... - this is what I said last year... "I just cannot afford the time because of RL work, & study, and a number of personal issues-People that know me, know that I never half arse things To this end, it would be disingenuous of me to apply, and then not deliver on a promise. Likewise it would be disingenuous of me to take votes, and then fail the community that I love. Hence no CSM campaign for me this year." ... it will be similar story this year too unfortunately! :(
Slight aside... but I always say that the following regarding CSM:
Read the candidate threads on the eve-o forums.
Vote for the person / people who have campaigns that resonate with you most.
Vote for the person/people who represent your game style most effectively.
Vote for the person/people that can / will safeguard / enhance your time in eve.
Use all your votes! - dont leave spots dry - put someone in every position.
