Ooh, I didn't realise they were last night. I'm kinda surprised to see Oppenheimer sweep like that. I liked it enough but I think there were much stronger films nominated and in Nolan's career. Can't argue with Emma Stone and Da'Vine Joy Randolph picking up their respective awards though. I caught The Holdovers this weekend and Randolph was absolutely incredible in it.

I haven't seen The Holdovers yet, but I'm looking forward to making an evening of it. I really did enjoy Oppenheimer though, it was one of those films that made me sit in silence for a while afterwards. (In a good way.)

Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed Oppenheimer, I just found that my interest dissipated a fair bit after the test scene. I would definitely recommend The Holdovers! It's extremely charming and full of heart

I've only seen 3/5 of the best film finalists so it's hard to give a definitive opinion!

Oppenheimer was my pick of the three I have seen, and I think Nolan/Murphy were both good choices... but the real takehome message for me was "I need to watch The Holdovers". I'll reserve my right to change my opinion after doing that...

Yes you should! The only one I haven't seen is Anatomy of a Fall, but of the rest Poor Things would have been my pick
