Netflix's adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender seems like a faithful remake.

I'm 2 episodes in (out of 8) but I'm pleasantly surprised, especially after the travesty that was the 2010 live action movie.

The casting is pretty damn good, especially Uncle Iroh and Sokka (who may have had some CGI touch ups).

The soundtrack is maybe even the same as the original, so it feels like The Last Airbender.

The costuming is a bit rough around the edges, with some dodgy wigs and such, but that's ok.

The storyline is very faithful to the cartoons (anime? Sorta?), but with more upfront backstory than in the original, but I don't mind that.

I'll keep watching, but I'm just here to invite you along with me on the ride!

I don't know anything about Avatar the last air bender and watched the netflix series. I really enjoyed it and found the story well portrayed and I didn't feel like I was missing out on anything.

Ah I envy you!

I think that if I were to be able to do it again, I'd start by watching the new Netflix series.

If you enjoyed the new one, I heartily recommend the original series (which also has a sequel series set 50 years after the original, called The Legend of Korra). I only started watching it a couple of years back, during the pandemic, and it's aged extremely well.
