Pierce Brosnan
While I really appreciate the modern look of Daniel Craig Bond movies with the insane stunts that sometimes only rival those of Tom Cruise's in Mission: Impossible, the modern cars, and gritty action, the first image that comes to mind when I think of James Bond is one of Pierce Brosnan.
His version of Bond is the first I remember actively watching on TV. I've since gone back and watched some older Bond movies as well, but the way Brosnan portrayed him just makes the numbers 007 synonymous with his name - at least for me.

His version of Bond is the perfect mix of charisma and skillful agent. I always thought Sean Connery's version (RIP), laid on the charisma a little thick. He was cool and collected but around women he was always a bit too aggressive for my taste. On the other side of the spectrum stands Daniel Craig. Extremely skilled, always ready to fight - the only time his combat spotlight was ever stolen was by Paloma in the previous movie. I could talk about all the other actors who portrayed Bond, but Brosnan had the perfect balance, I feel.
Everyone loves GoldenEye and it's without a doubt one of the most iconic movies ever. It reaches even further than that if you consider other forms of media, such as video games. My personal Brosnan favorite is Die Another Day, however. Writing about him has put me in the mood to re-watch it.
