It is, yes.
It only happens because there’s a Christmas party.
McClane writes “ho-ho-ho” as part of his psychological warfare on the terrorists.
When they crack the vault they say “merry Christmas”
The song that plays for the credits is Let it Snow
Holly’s Christmas bonus gift is pivotal in the finale
The film OPENS with Christmas In Hollis by Run DMC
The only reason McClane able to conceal his Beretta in the finale is because of the festive tape at a gift wrapping station
IT’S A CHRISTMAS MOVIE
Just to get ahead of any Devil’s Advocate kinda people:
Bruce Willis says it’s not (he says it’s a Bruce Willis movie which is a bad argument).
The script writer says it’s not (the book Nothing Lasts Forever which the film is based on also takes place on Christmas Eve, so that’s a bad argument).
It was released in July, to which I say “SO??”
There's really no arguing with this and I can't do any better.
Case closed, the jury can go home early.
Can you tell I’ve had this argument before lol
Too many times it seems like LMAO
The only thing I find MORE ridiculous a notion is that Jaws isn’t a horror movie haha
Maybe if you were scared of Daleks when their greatest weakness was stairs.
Exterminate! EXTERMIN—clunk
"Davros..you moron HOW DID YOU NOT THINK ABOUT STAIRS? EXPLAIN...EXPLAAAAAIN"
"I couldn't get the parts for anti-gravity, but I'm on the waiting list"
Yes.
Next question.
How many Christmas movies released mid summer? just one?
Miracle On 34th Street was released in June. Along with another dozen or so theatrical releases in the last 120 years.
Not to mention about 20 TV movies.
Anything is a Christmas movie if you watch it at Christmas XD
Jokes aside, I don't celebrate Christmas, I hate Christmas movies... Apart from this one... So yes it is a Christmas movie.
I actually hate Christmas too. That's something I sometimes bring up when talking about how Die Hard is a Christmas movie. "I hate Christmas and even I think this is a Christmas movie." But it's an unpopular opinion, so I typically just keep it to myself LMAO.
