Probably the Sonic re-design. The studio ended up hiring Tyson H who had started his career doing Sonic fan works and later animation on Sonic Mania shorts to help with the re-design and it was so successful that the Sonic movie is on their third one!

Not really sure if this is in the exact SPIRIT of your question, but the movie Hush from 2015 sparked some kind and thoughtful coverage of the deaf acting community.

Essentially, a director/actor husband and wife duo made the film as a passion project, husband directing and wife acting, where a deaf woman is terrorized by a psychopath in a remote cabin.

There was absolutely no malice in the choice, but casting a hearing woman in a deaf role sparked the deaf community to run an awareness campaign on the struggles of that particular community.

It’s special to me because one of my fav movies, A Quiet Place, starred a deaf actor who basically turned out to be an unofficial ASL (American Sign Language) consultant on set. The knowledge of the previous controversy made me love it even more.

Hush is also one of my fav movies and the director Mike Flanagan is probably my fav contemporary horror dorector. His wife Kate Siegel is also a big name in horror.

I didn't realize Mike Flanagan was married to Kate Siegel. That explains why she's in just about every project he does (and I don't mean that in a nepotism/nefarious way).

Yeah for sure. I like that he uses many of the same talent, it reminds me a little of American Horror Story.

The story of Hush coming about is pretty cool, they just started spitballing over dinner then would act out how it would work in their own house. They actually had to change filming locations to make it fit better with their house layout haha

Very cool story. It's interesting to see a crowd moving for a cause on their own, it helps us to still have faith in humanity!

What I remember most recently was the redesign of Sonic, as mentioned above. But it's not the same and it doesn't carry the same weight as what you said about Twilight.
