A movie about Captain Barbossa's Backstory :

one of most successful pirates movies are : the Pirates of the Caribbean movies that put a standard of what a Pirates were with there myths that were the perspectives of the ordinary people.

Hector Barbossa had a great impact in the movies from the first one till the last one, and for some reason he got few scenes from his past, the part of his life that made him what he is, I'm talking about the young man before meeting with Jack sparrow, how he reached the position of captain of the Black Perl, how he did his mutiny against Jack.

The movie should be long as the ones from the P.O.C ones, as Barbossa as main character and as Jack and maybe a third character like the human Davy Jones.

The main plot should be the days before establishing of the council of Pirates but from the eyes of Barbossa, the movie should conclude on the Mutiny and the Barbossa as captain of the Black Perl, Davy Jones as the Captain of the Flying Dutchman.

In between this 2 points the movie can show the friendship of Hector/ jack and separation ( more of a rivalry relation ship ), Davy/Calisto unbounding love and the start of the curse that we can see in the dead man's chest movie.

Now for The Name of the movie can be like : The Dawn of Piracy

My spin-off would be Adventure Time, which is a cartoon I recently finished watching and I'm hooked.

The title would be: Adventure Time: Magical Lands

It would focus on telling the events after the last war that occurred in the main series, telling the story in a more serious way, since lately the franchise has been betting on this more adult narrative tactic, focusing on the relationship between Finn and the Huntress, developing the city of wizards more and talking about the demons that formed the land. I would like to see countless fights and development of characters that are interesting but haven't had much development, like Marceline's father.

This is a demand from many fans, like me, it would be really cool to delve even deeper into this rich and beautiful universe.

I love Adventure Time. Talking of a more mature version, have you seen Adventure Time: Fiona and Cake? I started it at the weekend, and wow - what a change in tone!

Ready Player One is one of the rare film adaptations that I wholeheartedly think is better than the book. Depending on where you look they may or may not be working on turning the sequel into a movie as well, and honestly I hope they pull off the same magic with that because Ready Player Two was...not great, even as someone who loved the first book.

But I think something that would be interesting to explore would be a TV/Streaming series that acts as a prequel to the events of Ready Player One. The series would follow a young(er) James Halliday and Ogden Morrow at Gregarious Games in the late 90's, when work begins on the OASIS. We know from Ready Player One that during this time GG stops releasing any games or products at all and almost winds up going bankrupt before the rebrand to Gregarious Simulation Systems and the launch of the OASIS in 2012, but basically nothing else.

The plot would revolve around the struggle to create not just the OASIS itself, but the technology necessary for it to exist in a way that is both sustainable and accessible to the general public instead of just the wealthy elite. Conflict between the creative and innovative Halliday and Morrow and their busniess-minded board and investors would be one of the primary sources for drama. Another would be the simmering tension between Halliday and Morrow themselves, partially resulting from the love triangle we'd get to see play out between the two men and Kira Underwood (ideally the series would do the same for Kira as the film did for Artemis and make Kira a proper character in her own right rather than just a plot device and romantic interest/trophy), but also Morrow's growing concerns that the OASIS might turn out to be nothing but a high-tech cage for Humanity to lock itself away in rather than deal with the harshness of reality. A worry that gets exacerbated as the series progresses and we see hints of the societal collapse that leaves the world in the dystopian state we find it in in Ready Player One.

If the series runs long enough we could also see plot threads about the rise of Innovative Online Industries and their attempts to stage hostile takeovers of GSS and claim control of the OASIS, as well as Ogden eventually leaving GSS to start his own company with Kira, and Halliday's declining health and decision to create the Easter Egg Hunt.

Title: Cyberpunk Edgerunners: Maine

Maine is a major character in Cyberpunk: Edgerunners who I felt got cut off just too soon - Absolutely great character and the father figure to David (Main character) in the film.

As leader of his crew, Maine was always an upfront and fair leader, however there wasn't much shone upon his early life, and his rise to someone of his reputation. I wish there was a spinoff on Maine's early life so that we'd get a bit more insight into his life!

It'd first look at his early life, how he turned from a frail and weak kid to an underground fighter and eventually to his shift in NUSA SpecOps (New United States Armed forces) and how it psychologically impacted him whilst having to burn down village after village. The following would then look at his rise to power as the leader of a crew and problems with recruiting in Night City (A few occasions, the 'recruitees' tended to try to kill Maine) until his death in the original Cyberpunk Edgerunners series.

Thanks Samuel. We'll need some more detail added if you'd like to win a prize with this one, such as a title and suggested plot lines.

"The four stages of Rust Cole"

Since Mathew McConaughey (yes, I had to search how to write it) wrote a 450 pages diary to develop his character in the best first season of a TV show ever made, "True Detective" (and the other seasons don't exist), I would use that diary for a spin off.

I would skip his time on the academy to focus on his first cases, his lectures, the story with her daughter, everything with the same dark, gloomy atmosphere of the original show (and Lovecraft's shadow too).

TOGUSA - The Ghost Files

I've been a big fan of Ghost In The Shell since day one. I think a show that explores Togusa's character before, during, and after working with the Major would be really cool. A mix of True Detective and Blade Runner.

But the format of the show would be self-contained episodes, each covering a different time in Togusa's life. From what he did at the very beginning of his career, to one of most dangerous missions with the Major, to one after he split from the team.

To be honest, I'm not sure if this would be an animated show or live-action. I think both formats could work. We'll never get anything like this but it's fun to imagine.

The Other Houses - Harry Potter
Despite the negativity JK gets nowadays due to her more non-magical narrative, I think she has created one of the best fantasy worlds to date set in modern times.

My spin-off focuses on the other houses (similar to GoT) and how the students act whilst in the same year as Harry Potter. Because the HP series is set during the 6 years Harry is in Hogwarts, I feel that there is a lot to explore when it comes to how the other students act to the sometimes world changing events through the series.

A romance plot could be between witch and wizard of different houses and the difficulties of communicating once a curfew hits due to Sirius' escape in the third year or the effects of being a Slytherin and associated with the Voldemort purely by house affiliation.
We could also see a different side to Harry and how he reacts to other students. Some may perceive him as stuck up especially in the 5th book trying to run an illegal Defence Against the Dark Arts Club or too shy and indecisive in the first few years as he adapts to the new wizarding world. Just as we are with celebrities, I'm sure there are students that see him as a hindrence to their studies at Hogwarts and would rather just get on with their O.W.Ls in peace rather than continue with an annual Voldemort event.

Star Trek - Episode Sarek

There is a book about Spock's father and we do see him in quite a few episodes and the movies as well, but still I think there is so much to his character what we don't know. I would love to see either a movie or a mini series focusing on his early life, how he became an Ambassador of Vulcan and how he met his wife.

This would also be a great way to see more of Amanda, Spock's mother and it would be an interesting comparison to see Vulcan and its people through her eyes and see Earth and humans through the eyes of a Vulcan.

We saw a little bit of young Spock in the reboot of Star Trek movies, but I would love to see more of his childhood, what it meant to be of mixed race and growing up mostly among his Vulcan relatives. The struggles he had to face, how they shaped his character and how he became the man we got to meet in the original Star Trek series would be a really interesting plot to follow and I'm sure many people could relate to the struggles he had to face.

I had this idea ever since I saw Leonard Nimoy and Zachary Quinto face to face in the new Star Trek movies, and would have been interesting to see Leonard Nimoy not playing an older Spock but playing Sarek. Sadly that's not a casting we would be able to see. I do love Zachary's Spock though so would just have to find someone for Sarek and Amanda.

Title: The Sorcerer's Gambit

I'd love to see a spin off of Triss Merigold, from The Witcher. What happened to her after she was thought to be dead in Battle of Sodden Hill? What politic schemes was she involved with and why? Maybe even her scaping the Nilfgaardian prison with help of another Witcher besides Geralt, as it's a possibility in The Witcher 2. She's a complex character and isn't personally explored as it could be, so I would love to see Projekt Red's team telling us more about her, her lovers and political causes, which would give us more information before choosing between her or Yennefer.

Blade Runner: Shadow of Gaff

PLOT:

"Set in the rainy, neon-lit streets of future Los Angeles, ‘Blade Runner: Shadow of Gaff’ chronicles the investigations of this enigmatic Blade Runner. Gaff has always operated in the shadows, weaving between the grey areas of morality that define his existence"

I consider him to be a really well acted secondary character, with a profile that allows for a lot of evolution. Her completely Noir look, her attitude, the mysterious and enigmatic Origami figures... I think it's really interesting.

The show would be about other cases investigated by Gaff, not only as an officer of the Los Angeles Police Department, but even before he joined the department and started with the Tyrell Corporation case, such as the Moonbus case with Clovis as the main leader, and later cases in the same Lore of the Blade Runner universe with Nexus-8 involved. It could also explain the origin of his obsession with origami as well as maintain the ongoing mystery of who is really a replicant and who is human in everything that has happened in the films and the true importance of where humanity resides.

Lanah Tyra's avatar

I would absolutely watch this! And I think Edward James Olmos would be up for starring in this, he really enjoyed playing the character. I had a chance to talk to him on a comic con in London, really nice guy!

CMDR Henckes's avatar

The title would be Fallout: Red Alert

It will basically come to the begging of everything from the world of fallout , that means to the war that ends it all!

Plot:

"The fight between United States of America still increasing. We follow the life from different people among this tension, from a simple family at the suburbs of Washington, to the presidents of China e and United states. While the things heat up we see some business-people doing not so nice plans and thinking about the end of the world. The grateaste diplomats won't be enough to stop what is coming and no family is ready to survive, if they survive the coming of this new world!"

So my idea is to create the discussions, diplomacy, maybe some perspective of soldiers in some battlefield, and see how everything scales up to a nuclear war that will transform the USA in the wasteland that we see in the Fallout Tv show. It will remember some aspects from TV shows like house of cards of even the movie The Darkest Hour that show the diplomacy of war and how wrong decisions can make the lost of so many lives! I imagine it like a mini series just one season, there so much potential to show up many perspectives but it would be strange for me something like that have more than one season!

An interesting spinoff idea would be “McGonagall: The Cat of Hogwarts”. The series would focus on the youth of our beloved professor, showing her relationship with Dumbledore, her apprenticeship in transfiguration and her entire journey, allowing each season to portray a stage in her life:

Childhood and Early Years

In childhood, the episodes could explore the duality between her father, who was a Muggle Presbyterian minister, and her mother, who had given up on the wizarding world for her husband, even omitting to tell him in order to preserve their marriage. So we'd have Minerva and her mother dealing with the emergence of her powers and her relationship with her father (I won't spoil it haha).

Life at Hogwarts

McGonagall has always been different, right from the start, since the Sorting Hat took her five and a half minutes to decide between Ravenclaw and Gryffindor, already demonstrating an enormous personality with a thirst for knowledge and a great spirit of bravery. We see his beginnings as an Animagus, his career in Quidditch, giving a touch of action to the story, especially against Slytherin haha.

Hogwarts

We would see her beginnings as an assistant in the Department for the Enforcement of Magical Laws until she became a teacher at her old school, until she became our beloved teacher that we see in the films.

Note: Our beloved Maggie Smith left us this year, the series would be an eternalization of her legacy by having her children act.

JHenckes's avatar

I'd call it: The Iroh Chronicles"

It would be a spinoff about the past of General Iroh from Avatar: The Last Master of the Air. He's one of my favorite characters, in the series he's referred to as the “Dragon of the West”, and it's always commented on his great past. Everyone wished that one day it would be animated, but it never happened.

Talking a little more about the reason for the spinoff, it would show Iroh's story as the historical general of the Fire Nation, addressing themes that are not explored in the main series, such as disillusionment as a conquering nation and the cost of losing one's son. It would be great to see his journey through the 4 nations.

I think it's every fan's wish to understand more about this beloved character's past. Apart from all the depth it would add to the Avatar universe, and also the cool message his story conveys (a bloody emperor to a wise and gentle master with abrupt changes in his mentality).

"The Lost Journals of Samwise Gamgee"

Premise:
WeThe Lord of the Rings, but I think his life before and after the journey to Mordor has so much untapped potential. This series would follow Sam’s life from two different timelines: one in his younger days, starting as a gardener for the Bagginses, and the other after his return to the Shire as a husband, father, and eventual mayor. Each episode could be structured as Sam recounting his past adventures to his children through these “lost journals,” each entry revealing a different moment of bravery, struggle, and humor in both small-town Hobbiton and beyond.

Plot Overview:
In the “before” timeline, we’d see Sam get into all kinds of scrapes around the Shire — rescuing animals, tending to eccentric gardens, befriending (and avoiding) interesting characters, and even uncovering little mysteries around Hobbiton. This would build up the adventurous side that he later channels into his journey with Frodo. In the “after” timeline, we’d see Sam facing new challenges: politics in the Shire, raising a family, and dealing with a few post-war struggles. Though his journeys might seem mundane compared to fighting orcs, Sam’s life would bring out heartfelt, everyday heroism in a way only he could.

Why I'd Love to See It:
Sam is so much more than just Frodo’s best friend — he’s the emotional core of the story, and I think there’s a richness to his character that deserves the spotlight. This series would be a gentle, feel-good journey through the everyday heroics of a Hobbit who’s had his share of glory but is equally brave in the quiet moments. Plus, it would be great to see the Shire in all its colorful, earthy detail as Sam navigates a life that’s challenging in its own, understated way. It’s a way to return to Middle-Earth without the epic battles and instead appreciate the small, meaningful moments that make it feel like home.

I’ve recently gotten into the John Wick films, and I think an interesting spinoff would be to focus on Jimmy the police officer. It could be titled “From The World Of John Wick: Officer. It would have Jimmy’s point of view from the John Wick series, we’d learn how he met John. It could fall along the lines of Jimmy meeting John, after he had killed a criminal he was going to apprehend, Jimmy would probably not agree with John's methods and would probably try to arrest him but he would escape and they would then run into each other several times throughout the film and Jimmy would learn a bit more about John, The criminal he was going to arrest, and the High Table. This in turn would showcase the police’s relationship with the High Table. The film's tone would remain the same, keeping its action and intensity, and iconic fight scenes, along with having humorous moments.

Alex Sinclair's avatar

Marcus That could be fun! Would you change the genre into more of a comedy caper? And do you have any ideas for how they might have met?

M

(just updated my post) I would keep the tone and genre the same, but add a few more humorous moments, as despite Jimmy only appearing briefly in the first two films, his interactions with John are one of the funny moments.

Thanks Marcus, we're still ideally looking for a little more detail here on the plot line. Do you have any ideas for how they might have met?

Spinoff Title: Star Wars: Dawn of the Chosen

Premise

What if Anakin Skywalker resisted the lure of the dark side and fulfilled his destiny as the Chosen One by leading the Jedi Order into a new era? In this alternate timeline, Anakin remains steadfast in his loyalty to the Jedi, confronting the corruption in the Republic and bringing balance to the Force—not through destruction but through unity and renewal. The galaxy faces new challenges as the Sith adapt to Anakin's unforeseen resistance, creating a darker, more insidious threat that tests the very fabric of the Jedi's moral code.

Plot Overview

Set during the events of "Revenge of the SITH", Anakin Skywalker refuses to succumb to Palpatine’s manipulation. Instead, he exposes Palpatine’s Sith identity to the Jedi Council. Though Anakin struggles with fear for Padmé’s life, he chooses to trust Obi-Wan and Yoda’s guidance rather than act on his darker impulses.

Palpatine’s arrest sparks a galactic crisis as the Republic fractures, with remnants of the Senate rallying behind the Sith and their promises of order and power. A civil war erupts, but instead of the Empire rising, the galaxy is torn between the Jedi-led Republic and a chaotic alliance of opportunistic warlords and hidden Sith factions.

Anakin, thrust into the role of a wartime leader, faces personal and political challenges. He works alongside Obi-Wan and Ahsoka Tano to reform the Jedi Order, making it more compassionate and less dogmatic. Meanwhile, the Sith adapt to their new underdog status, relying on guerrilla tactics and sowing dissent within the Republic.

As the war progresses, Anakin begins to have visions of a shadowy Sith Lord far more ancient than Palpatine: Darth Plagueis, who has returned from the brink of death to claim the galaxy. The finale sees Anakin leading a united front of Jedi, clones, and rebel factions to confront this primordial threat, culminating in a dramatic showdown that forever reshapes the Force.

Why I'd Love to See It

1. Exploration of Anakin's Potential: This spinoff would allow us to see the heroic Anakin that Qui-Gon Jinn believed in—the Chosen One fulfilling his destiny without falling. His character would still face intense inner conflict, but it would focus on the struggle to lead and evolve without succumbing to fear and anger.

2. Richer Jedi Dynamics: Watching Anakin, Obi-Wan, Yoda, and Ahsoka work together to reform the Jedi Order would be fascinating, especially as they grapple with the flaws that led to their near downfall in the original timeline.

3. A Different Galactic Conflict: Instead of the Empire versus the Rebellion, we’d see a fractured galaxy where no side has overwhelming power. This would create a more morally complex and unpredictable story, as the Jedi navigate new alliances and face unconventional enemies.

4. The Sith as Underdogs: Seeing the Sith operate as a shadowy resistance would make for a fresh dynamic, and the return of Darth Plagueis as a mastermind would introduce a terrifyingly intelligent and powerful villain unlike any seen before.

5. A Deeper Connection to the Force: Without the looming tragedy of Anakin’s fall, the story could delve into the mysteries of the Force, exploring what true balance means and how Anakin’s unique destiny shapes the galaxy.

In essence, "Star Wars: Dawn of the CHOSEN" would combine the epic scale of the original saga with a fresh perspective on its central themes, offering fans a compelling "what if" scenario that redefines the legacy of the Chosen One.

Line of Duty was an amazing show made by the BBC. A police anti corruption unit (that seemed more corrupt than the rest of the police service combined) set out to take down a syndicate of influential corrupt police officers and their ring leader known only as ‘H’.

The series does a brilliant job of keeping the over-arching story ticking along nicely while also integrating exciting and tense side stories to help tie the backstory together. The audience is kept guessing throughout as to who could be ‘H’, and which of any number of dodgy looking officers could be in on the take. Aside from a poor ending to an otherwise excellent show, this was a massive hit and NEEDS a spin-off. Whether that be a new Anti corruption unit or more stories of undercover police trying to determine who is involved.

If you haven’t seen this show, it’s a must for TV fans and you will soon see why it needs a spin-off!

If you're to win a prize, we'll need you to edit your entry and flesh out your idea for the spinoff (characters, plot, etc.)

Violet Evergarden Title : Surely, Someday You Will Understand "Love"

After finishing the series, you must watch the OVA because I think you will be introduced to a famous opera singer, Irma. Just like the series, Violet is given the task of writing a letter according to Irma's request, who is grieving the loss of a loved one.

Through this episode, the audience is invited to dive into Irma's emotional struggle and Violet's efforts to understand and convey deep emotions through letters. The themes of love and loss are explored in such a warm way, showing Violet's character development as she slowly begins to understand the meaning of love, something that was once difficult for her to grasp.

While watching, I was annoyed by Irma's haughty attitude but it was all worth it when Violet's letter was finished. The contents of the letter are depicted with typical kyoto animation visuals, with music that supports the emotional atmosphere of the story. This episode feels like a small stand-alone piece but still gives depth to the main theme of the series, which is how letters can be a bridge to unspoken emotions.

Thank You :)

From the Avatar saga I'd like to see a movie about the first Toruk Makto. In the first Avatar movie Neytiri talks about the first warrior who bring peace between Na'vi's clan on Pandora. The movie could be simple called The Last Shadow because he ride the fearest creature of the sky, last thing you see before decease.
