I subscribed to Apple TV recently and watched a season of Silo (based on one of my favourite books - Wool).https://youtu.be/8ZYhuvIv1pA

Silo is fantastic, based off the story Wool by author Hugh Howey.

Also watched Foundation (based off a story by Isaac Asimov - I haven't read his books, but have heard he is a big time old school sci-fi writer).

Might have to find another apple tv trial, both look good

OK, now i have to know... what's outside? (no spoilers)

Jared Harris is brilliant in everything, I'd seen the trailers for Foundation, but I haven't watched much on AppleTV (except Ted Lasso - which is excellent).

From the novels by Hugh Howey it is later revealed that outside the silo there are....

Watched the first 2 episodes of this tonight. Really good. Thanks for recommending it.

We just finished episode 6 of Silo last night. It's been really great so far.

I just started watching The Bear on Disney+. I'm three episodes in and enjoying it, it's about a chef who takes over his brother's struggling sandwich joint. It gets stressful a bit like Uncut Gems.

Unpopular opinion, but I didn't get on with The Bear. Gave up after 4 or 5 episodes. Too much shouting, especially from the one-dimensional brother character (Richie)...

Nothing at the moment, so watching this post with interest. Was thinking about starting Expanse on Amazon prime as people have being going on about it on the Starfield subreddit.

One I watched a while back I recommend is Halt & Catch Fire. Best thing I have seen on Amazon prime although it's no longer free on there, It's on Channel 4 OD in full for free now.

It's certainly not new, but if you haven't seen it, i highly recommend (the first two seasons of) The Newsroom.

TBH, anything made by Aaron Sorkin is pretty fantastic.

Cheers, found a 5 month trial route I haven't used yet. I've been meaning to watch the newsroom for a few years but never have yet. Will try and get round to it this time!

I’ve been enjoying the new season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds as it’s been coming out. It has a lot of the polish of new Trek, while regaining a lot of the charm of the older stuff.

I also watched the latest Guardians of the Galaxy this past Friday. Gotta say, probably one of the best written movies Marvel has put out. I’m looking forward to seeing what James Gunn does with Superman, there’s a lot of potential there.

I watched the new Guardians over the weekend too. IMO, the first is still the best, but they did an excellent job of wrapping the trilogy up in a nice bow - and most importantly, the soundtrack was on point.

I liked the first season of ST Discovery, but I haven't tried SNW yet.

I've just started watching Succession, and it's rather good.

TL;DR lots of rich shit heads trying to mess each other around and decide who gets to be the next boss after the current boss dies. Pretty much a Murdoch biopic.

Have been looking for some light, easy-going telly and hadn't heard of Will Trent before. Going on the watchlist, cheers!

Don't think many people gave the new(ish) Twilight Zone a good bash so would recommend that. Got lukewarm reviews but I think, at points, it stays true to the show's Serling heyday and it fills the hole left by fairly shite back-to-back Black Mirror seasons. I might be biased due to an unhealthy crush on Jordan Peele though.

Since having a baby in April I haven't been able to watch anything of merit, but at the same time I have somehow watched nine seasons of Below Deck. Absolute trash, he says as he gleefully begins watching a tenth season.

I also watched the new Wes Anderson film, Asteroid City, over the weekend. I'm a huge Wes Anderson fan and really enjoyed The French Dispatch, but unfortunately I think this is the first time I haven't liked one of his films. It felt like there just wasn't anything to grab onto and as a result was just kinda slow and lethargic. I found myself longing for something like The Royal Tenenbaums or Life Aquatic again
