Happy Monday, everyone! Last week's special occasion aside, a new week means a weekly update to let you all know what we've been working on. As ever, it's been a busy one...
One week of EVE 🚀
Just About EVE Online has been live for a week now. As our first game-centric community, its launch was a big moment for Just About, featuring our biggest and boldest set of bounties yet. We've been delighted to see so many veteran EVE players joining, tackling bounties, and sticking around to chat, and we’re going to keep up the momentum. You'll see the community's response reflected in the bounties coming up, but if you’ve got a specific suggestion, we’ve a just launched a bounty for bounty ideas, so let us know!
Gearing up for Gamescom ✈️
We’re Just About two weeks away from Gamescom, when the global games industry will descend like a giant Space Invader upon Cologne, Germany. Al, Rupert, and Joel are booking dozens of meetings for the show, and rescue teams inform me they are making good progress through the mound of emails they’ve unnecessarily printed.
There’s a sense of serendipity: the show falls at the perfect time to share the good progress in our Alpha and Just About EVE, so we're hopeful of some positive contact with the wider industry as we head into release season and the next phase of our roadmap.
Platform update 🧑💻
The tech team continues to work their magic. The way they’ve been squashing bugs on Just About EVE you’d think it was Just About Starship Troopers, and we now also have lovely custom error pages with a friendly giant emoji that reminds me vaguely of Commander Keen's Dopefish. What's that? You'd like to see one? Go on then…
See you around the site! - Rich
