Earnings page update
Things have been a bit quiet in terms of visible front-end changes recently, but the tech team has been hard at work on some important behind-the-scenes changes. You can read more about that below. One update you might’ve noticed is the Earnings page, which has been given a bit of a functional and visual overhaul. You can head over there now and check it out.
New content continues
With the popularity of our Tuesday Meet the Team posts (see Rich and Boomer here), we’ve decided to add a new weekly post to the JAJA schedule: Thursday Thoughts. You can read the first one here.
These posts will be a chance to share topical news or a thought to prompt discussion within the community. We encourage you to take part as, among other things, the discussions will be around community spaces, life in a digital society, and what we can learn in order to build a better and more inclusive platform.
Topics will change up on a weekly basis and we are open to suggestions, so see this as a way to open up communication about the platform. Just leave a comment on the current Thursday Thoughts post and we might use it for a future post.
JAutoMod
This behind-the-scenes update is a very big step towards building a safe and healthy online community. JAutoMod (pronounced jaw-toe-mod) is an auto-moderation tool that helps check URLs that are included in posts. You might not encounter it too often, but if you do you will see something like this:
This just means that the website you linked to is new to our auto-moderation tool, and that a human moderator will check and verify that it’s safe. We’ll try to do this as soon as we can but we appreciate your patience, particularly over evenings and weekends.
As more members include domains in their posts we will be able to train JAutoMod to recognise and allow (or ban) more websites, streamlining the process for everyone.
