I have been engaging in a closed bounty this morning with Alex Sinclair lol. Literally the exact bounty you referenced. If you find something you would like to engage with, by all means engage!

Your chat is what sparked my interest I think. :) But then I felt inhibited to post on it because of the closed bounty note on it. I had a weird moment of not wanting to do something wrong I guess. :D

I think just because the bounty is closed doesn’t mean you can’t contribute. I for one would love to know what your fav movie of 2023 was!

We had this exact conversation when we met for our quarterly team meeting last week MargotCandy - you must be psychic! Or at least very tuned in to the JA vibe 👌

The 'desired' behaviour is to have every member feel like they can engage with whatever, wherever, whenever - so by all means share your favourite film after a bounty has expired! If you felt like that was discouraged, that's a problem for us to solve in our user experience design. And having you hit on the same discussion we stumbled onto last week is more evidence that this is a piece of UX we need to give some attention to 🙏. So, I'll add this thread to the discussion we're already having on this topic and hopefully we can make expired bounties less ambiguous and more engaging soon!

Thanks for the feedback 🙌

I guess the word "closed" is wrong in this context as it implies the whole post is closed. I can't think of of a word or two that will put across simply and clearly though that its closed for entries but not for discussion.

Deffo post if you want to chat with someone on there, it's what JA is about, openness and being yourself, trust me people will reply!

For me, bounties are just simple posts with interactive component, just like polls (which are also time-based, by the way). I save bounties esp. like movies and music in my favorites to review and update my watch lists later.

I also use some posts as references. That's why I suggested adding a filter for closed bounties - to make them more visible. Oh, and the moderators have done an excellent job creating curated, compendium-style posts that summarize what we've learned from all our submissions. They're definitely worth a read!

I’ve been loving the summary posts. They have been great as a new comer and figuring out how I’ll use the platform and how I’ll stay up to date. I love the idea of saving posts and then going through them to pick out suggestions for films etc.

yup saving posts are good for future coming back references. Expired bounty are just like posts. If it creates a good topic, that’s great reading right there for the archives

I think it would be good to continue the conversations on after the bounty has ended. It woul also give us all a chance to check out the winners entries.
