I don't know what it is, there might be something in the water... but I have three new songs I'm obsessed with to chew on over the long weekend.
Starset - Brave New World
Both a heavier tone and somewhat experimental, it's still quintessential Starset with a gripping hook and bopping breakdown. I've had this on repeat since it dropped this morning.
The Home Team - Roommates / Overtime
Swinging in with a double drop, The Home Team are one of my 2024 favourites with a new album dropping July 12. I'm a big fan of this method of drip-feeding songs in the run-up to release. Not necessarily making them all singles but just offering them up as and when they're ready.
Here, Roommates is a banger with the usual blend of funk. Overtime hasn't grabbed me as much as the others but it's far from a bad song.
Rain City Drive x Dayseeker - Medicate Me
This actually dropped last week but I thought I'd offer it up as an ICYMI for others. I catch myself singing the chorus often.
I believe rock is evolving rapidly lately, and I love the direction of it. Give these a listen and tell me what you think.
