  • Why the song is so great: I think this song is great because is out of the genere. It have a great mood, for me is a hidden gem of Pat Metheny and is underrated because most of the people think about jazz fusion at the same way with cliches and mostly in the traditional way. Most of the people who like electronic music don't look at jazz at all and most of the people who like jazz dont look at electronic stuff.. so i think is a great hidden gem, underrated and in a jazz fusion album that is so different respect to the other song.

I think a great underrated song is women's world by Little Mix, it was on their 5th studio album and highlighted the differences in life experiences when you are a female. Honestly, a super powerful song that I think all men should hear.

IMo this song is so well written but it is never really taken as a "mainline" song of Eminem, I am a massive fan of his and have all his albums (including original CDs) and this song is just so, jazz and base mixed in together flawlessly. Whilst it may contain explicit lyrics, it's just an amazing song and will always be one of my favourites.

  • Eminem - Brain Damage. Why the song is so great: The lyrics feel very real and are very good. The tune is also good and catchy, it's sort of depressing but in a good way when you're in the mood to listen to that sort of thing.

P.S. I love you" de The Beatles

I first heard it in the movie Superman 2 in the Diner scene. The saxophone lines are very catchy and the groove is great.

Limp Bizkit are one of the most loved and hated band in metal music. They're always over the top and made great funny song. But they can be serious and results may vary is the album where they show serious side. Ok 'eat you alive' and 'behind blue eyes' got famous from this album, but for me 'Creamer (Radio is Dead)' is a valuable song. The sound is so catchy!

  • I think most of people in this world know so well about Avenged Sevenfold, but I don't think they know or understand about this one. This song is about M.Shadows depressions and telling us to to wake up, this song is so helpful for me to be more motivated and keep moving forward in this life 😊

Craig David is well known for his songs 7 Days, Walking Away, Fill Me In, and I Know You. But I think a song that is quite underrated would be “One More Time” (released in 2016). A track like this is a vibe that is perfect for partying and dancing (especially during the summer), which blends the genres of R&B, Soul, Dance, and Electronic music perfectly.

Also is italian song, because i'am italiano, i love this song, and Fabrizio Moro, he is rather underrated, but his songs convey a lot, especially to those who love romance, also because most of the time the songs talk about love stories, I recommend listening to him.

  • Joji's song Run is a very incredible song that people don't give much importance to. In addition to this song having an incredible and unique melody, its video clip is very creative and well constructed. It is one of my favorite songs by the artist, but I realize that the community does not give this song the visibility it needs.

Black Stone Cherry: Such a Shame

  • Why the song is so great

While fairly familiar, even in the UK, I feel these guys don't get enough credit for their music. This is one of my particular favourites from 'Between the devil and the deep blue sea'.

Great lyrics and a really catchy melody make me come back to this a lot!

I feel that this one of the lesser known songs performed by Owl City. I just came upon it one day many years ago and wondered how come it wasn't really known or is on spotify. Apparently it was a cover song that he did for his blog and was not released on label. It is a christian song but still has very much the stylings of Owl City.

Many Don't know the song called Ladder to the sun from the one and only Coldplay, This is an unreleased gem from the AROBTTH tour, officially played twenty times from January to April 2003. Was never played afterwards, although the title of the song became a lyric for the song Talk on X&Y.

Most people only know Chester Bennington from his time with Linkin Park. Let Down is more of a solo project that existed for a while and it eventually found its way onto an album Chester released with friends as Dead By Sunrise.

Ballads like this suited Chester just as well as the nu metal music he released with Linkin Park. The version on the Out Of Ashes album has a bit more force behind it and I urge everyone who loves LP and may not know about Dead By Sunrise to give this song and maybe even the album a listen.

While this version may not fit the underrated tag, I've included the original version above as the one most people are probably not familiar with.

Rest in peace 🙏

  • Why the song is so great

I think everything pre- Espresso is now coming out of the woodwork with Sabrina's album Emails I Can't Send getting its just recognition as an amazing pop-album. Nestled within is Feather - a light airy dance-pop track that has an amazing hook with her rapid vocals hitting you. It low vocals contrasts great with the saprano harmonies which actually makes me forget about Espresso completely.
That same airy pop style evokes a lot Harry Styles' As it was and in a similar manner describes a break-up too

Within Temptation - Candles

https://www.youtube.com/embed/dYI_wYh-1QM?feature=oembed

When it comes to early songs from Within Tempation, most people think of Ice Queen or Mother Earth, which are still often part of the setlist due to their popularity. Candles is from the album Enter which was more heavy on gothic elements than newer albums are.

I love the contrast of Sharon's beautiful voice and the very deep growls from the guest singer, but probably my favourite part is the piano solo. This song was still written my Martijn Westerholt who since then left the band and founded Delain. This song very rarely makes it to the setlist anymore, but I had the chance to hear it on their anniversary show Elements in 2013 where Martijn was invited as a guest to play the piano for this song.

I'm a big fan of Imagine Dragons, and I think one of their songs that is underrated is “Dream”, from the album Smoke + Mirrors. I really enjoyed seeing this more contemplative side of Dan Reynolds, and how he questions whether everything he's living is a dream, while at the same time talking about disappointments and wanting to keep dreaming.

It's a little different from the band's hits, but it doesn't lose the intensity of the infectious melody they always deliver... The song has a softer melody that touches the heart, whether it's the lyrics or the rhythm, you can't help but like it!

Great bounty and nice gems so far!!

For me, it would be "The march of the black queen", from Queen's second album. Sadly, most of the fans only know them because of the "greatest hits" (which, indeed, are great, of course), but when you say "listen to this" (or Dragon Attack, or Mustapha) they use to say "is this Queen?". This is an amazing example or how to join outstanding musical talent with high production values. The melodies, the changes in the rythm, the recording (in 1974)...I consider it a "preface" to Bohemian Rhapsody and the true hidden gem of my favourite band.

I hadn't heard this one before and I've seen Queen twice. It's great!

Most people probably know Erasure for hits like Blue Savannah or Always. But to me, Erasure is much more than that. The Circus, the title track from their album, brings a layer of social critique rarely expected in pop songs. The line "Putting back the pieces of a broken dream" resonates with me now more than ever, reminding us of the strength it takes to rebuild when dreams fall apart.

When people think of Oasis, they always think of Wonderwall, and I think that's fair, as the song is very good, but they end up leaving some hidden gems, like “The Masterplan”, which shows another side of Noel Gallagher, with deeper, even philosophical lyrics.

Not only is the video direction awesome, but the construction of this song is so beautiful and their approach to the theme of death is so sensitive. It's something just next door, and we can and should mourn about it, but not without celebrating life at the same time.

Although no one can replace Frusciante's unique style, Josh Klinghoffer was also so underrated. And this song proves it - that guitar melody is just so touching. I feel bad for him not pleasing a bunch of people just because he wasn't Frusciante.

Thanks! I remember listening to this when it was first released, downloading the video clip, and putting it on a USB so I could watch it on my TV - my first on-demand experience, haha. I’m still waiting for the chance to see them live, though I sadly don’t expect this song to be part of the setlist.

  • Some of Bjork's slower more ballad-y songs came right at the start of her career in the Debut era. It feels as though she was truly able to channel experiences she may never have experienced herself as evident on The Anchor Song, where she channels someone living on a boat, never having a true home besides where her anchor anchors here for the night. The instrumental beautifully compliments this, having fits and starts to show the turbulence of her life on the water, and overall it all comes together to make an amazing album closer and provides a glimpse of the fantasy her music would encompass.

My pick is a song that doesn't get the recognition it derserves, in my opinion, mostly because a lot of people aren't aware that it exists: The Show Must Go On by Queen. Specifically the live version where the band was joined by the iconic Elton John and Black Sabbath's Tony Iommi at the 1992 tribute concert following the passing of Freddie Mercury.

https://www.youtube.com/embed/MqesIQa_4xw?feature=oembed

When Brian May and Freddie Mercury sat down to write this song, it was about Mercury's struggle with the illness that ultimately caused his death, and his desire to perform despite knowing the end was near. That emotion came through in the studio recording, and it is head and shoulders my favorite Queen song.

Elton John instilled his own emotions into this performance and the meaning shifted somewhat. This version of the song is less about pushing on through adversity to give all that you have within you, it's a bout carrying on despite the loss that you've suffered. And from John and Iommi guesting on the performance, to Brian May and the surviving members of Queen, to every person in the crowd, everyone could feel that emotion.

According to Rolling Stone, "Queen's Brian May recalls that Mercury could hardly walk when the band recorded "The Show Must Go On" in 1990. "I said, 'Fred, I don't know if this is going to be possible to sing,' " May says. "And he went, 'I'll fucking do it, darling' — vodka down — and went in and killed it, completely lacerated that vocal." " You can watch the video and decide for yourself, but I think Elton John absolutely lived up to that example.

Released a month ago i consider this song is very underrated considering that Nightwish is a Metal Symphonic band, not all fans liked, im one of those who admire this song entirely, a poem to my ears.

https://www.youtube.com/embed/ipkEEwIszvM?feature=oembed
  • Why the song is so great: i feel that this song display the process of transitioning from darkness to light, evoking nostalgia, hope and suggesting a journey through our personal renewal.

I'd heard there was new Nightwish this year, but a lot of things happened at once and checking out the new album just kind of got lost in the shuffle. So thanks for reminding me that this exists!

Personally i think this album is pure art coming from the deepest of Tuomas Holopainen mind and heart.

As a fan of metal I can't deny how great and important Ozzy is but even him has some underrated songs, like Thank God for the Bomb, from the The Ultimate Sin album, to say the truth this album for me is almost entirely underrated with great songs, especially this one!

This song reminds me of one of the greatest from Black Sabbath specially on its critics talking about the warlords and how they glorify the destruction and death. And this song is specific about the illusion that using a bomb of mass destruction is good to end a war. (and everybody knows that the bombs didn't stop the world war II since the Japoneses didn't retreat after the terrorist attack)

So I love songs with those kind of critics, this one has a great message to pass and about the instrumental and Ozzy singing it is amazing as well and should be more listened!

The Alchemist - The Chemical Wedding (1998) - Bruce Dickinson

https://www.youtube.com/embed/iyAqNjjdLNs?feature=oembed

Essentially, I think Bruce Dickinson's solo career is not valued in the same way as his years in Iron Maiden, which may be logical due to how important and gigantic this band is. In any case, I consider that his solo albums are very interesting, specifically this ‘The Chemical Wedding’ is a marvel, and particularly this song seems to me a very underrated gem.

In any case, as I am Spanish, I can only talk about the sensations I experienced in my heavy metal musical environment when this album was released.

These magnificent melodies, guitars and lyrics, of a perfectly constructed concept album with all the influence of William Blake, end with this sublime song that closes the whole work.

And so we lay, We lay in the same grave, Our chemical wedding day

While Michael Jackson is celebrated for iconic hits like "Thriller," "Billie Jean," and "Beat It," his 1995 track "Stranger in Moscow" remains one of his most underrated masterpieces. Featured on the HIStory: Past, Present and Future, Book I album, this song showcases a deeply introspective and vulnerable side of the King of Pop.

Written during a period of immense personal and professional turmoil, "Stranger in Moscow" reflects themes of loneliness, isolation, and longing for connection. The haunting melody, poignant lyrics, and Jackson’s emotive vocals make it an unforgettable listening experience. The production, with its intricate layers and atmospheric soundscapes, is nothing short of brilliant, proving why Jackson was not only an exceptional performer but also a visionary artist.

This song deserves more recognition for its emotional depth and artistic complexity. It’s a testament to Michael Jackson's ability to convey raw human emotions through his music, solidifying his status as one of the greatest artists of all time.

I chose this one because when people think about Pink Floyd, always thik about just to the song Another brick in the wall, but there is a lot of great song by this awessome band, especially this underrated one.

M

VNV Nation have been arouns since the 90's, and have been largely underground. However this song with it's modern production, is a league above.
