I have 2 different layouts and i manually switch between them.

Hunt mode:

A gun, preferably pistol

Climbing pick

Mining pick

Knife

Spyglass

This allows me to find things, kill them and then skin them, if they are beasts.

Harvesting mode:

Mining pick

Axe

Scythe

Knife

Pistol

Here i focus more on grabing every resource i see, while have a slot dedicated to the defence.

As for my right hand - food and umbrella, to counter hunger and the heat (or rain).

In my opinion, an effective loadout is one that allows you to tackle any task without constantly accessing the inventory menu. Nightingale Hotbat's layout, unlike many similar survival-building games, imposes a limit of 5 slots per hand, providing room for strategic choices.

My current setup includes:

  1. Climbing picks: Essential for agility sites, especially in Vaults.

  2. Knife: My main caster's weapon, optimized for a crit-build with the Dauntless for extra crit bonus. Also useful for skinning animals.

  3. Axepick: A versatile tool serving as both an axe and a mining pick. Equipped with Oberon's Bounty for increased yield and damage.

  4. Scythe: Used for collecting crops and enchanted for magic attack bonus, with a Healing Charm for added utility.

  5. Lee Metford Rifle: Ideal for sniping distant enemies.

  6. Lantern: Necessary for fighting darkness, although the game could benefit from lighting improvements.

  7. Food: Crucial for survival.

  8. Healing powder: Essential for quickly fixing broken legs.

  9. Empty slot: Reserved for alternative food when needed.

  10. Umbrella: A versatile tool for gliding and fast traversal.

This loadout works for farming, exploration, vaults, construction, apex hunting, and every other aspect of the game.
