Make a guide to playing Pax Dei without a plot!

No plot, no problem! We have a separate reward challenging you to make guides for placing and developing plots, but what about those players who'd rather play without? It's a viable option that many players will wish to take, at least at first. We'd like you to make a guide for them. To sweeten the deal, we're offering a $100 top prize to the most professional and helpful video!

This reward opportunity has closed & is no longer accepting submissions.

Hello,

As someone who played Pax Dei for some time (alpha tests, EA), I want to share my point of view about a hot topic with Justabout team.

Play Pax Dei without a plot is possible but it has many limitations, thats why I think is good to make this post and maybe change the contest topic if needed.

In Pax Dei most of the players want to craft their own stuff, at lower levels or higher levels, but building and crafting are two big systems in this game, the most important ones at this moment. We can say both are the core game systems of Pax Dei.

A new player without a plot can join a clan or live in a friend house, but if we do this in a video, we are not following the contest point. Once you reach t1 tools (bronze ones) you start to need some workbench like furnaces, loom or tanning racks, and none of these are available without a plot access. In Petra Dei we have basic workbench, but these ones are missing. My point is, even if the game says you can play it without a plot, it comes with many limitations and a video about this could create more confusion and probably some people thinking we are "selling" a false playstyle.

I hope my comment is helpful to understand the issue. I'm one of the PD content creators and I love it, but I always like to be honest with the community and with any new player asking for the game. If you guys think there is a better way to do this, let us know plz.

Kind regards, IsvRada.

Hi IsvRada,

Thank you for carefully sharing your thoughtful point of view on this. We appreciate it's a hot topic, but we do think there's still value to no-plot play; even if it isn't a longterm choice, it can act as a useful test and stepping stone for new players. As such we also think there's value in no-plot guides, they're helpful for letting players know what they can't do as well as what they can do.

We're going to keep the challenge, but we've updated the text a little to make it clear that creators are free to mention the limitations of playing without a plot.

All the best,

Alex
