When Playing the number one thing to remember is to always remain safe and look after yourself.

Some things that you can do to improves you chances though are things like .

If you have plenty of berries use them to improve to chance of catching the Pokemon

Know your shinies - if you know what the shiny Pokemon looks like beforehand you will find it easier to spot them.

Make sure you are well stocked up on supplies, It's kinda hard to catch Pokemon with no Pokeballs.

If you can get to an area which is more populated you will find it easier to get Pokemon from raids because there are both a lot more raids and a lot more people doing raids.

I've finished Day One. Here are my top tips!

First off you absolutely need good walking shoes, there's going to be a lot of walking involved but it's worth it!
The event is from 10am-6pm which is incredibly long, you're not going to be playing for 8 hours straight so make sure you plan out bathroom breaks, food breaks and also places of rest! Look after your wellbeing

If you are playing a lot of it, have at least 8 incences, you'll need one for every hour.
You're going to be catching A LOT of pokemon so sort your storage out to have at least 100 spaces free or be lazy and spend real money to buy some

When your box gets full, search 4* and delete everything that isn't 4 that you do not want.

I'd advise using the quick catch glitch as well if you want to speed things up. You should go into a densley populated area with a lot of pokestops to refill your pokeballs on and about a 15 minute look so spawns can refill

Incense spawn one pokemon per minute I believe when walking in this event, click the incense pokemon before it changes to something else, special eyes on pokemon such as corsola which is not available easily in europe and can be shiny

Make sure you are stocked up on pokeballs, don't click on pokemon spawns after 9.45am as they will all reset at 10am and you don't want to lose this

If possible play with a friend and take advantage of the bonus XL candy that is available

Stock water bottles, portable charges and portable chargers, you're going to need them! Also have a backup area to play incase it rains (such as a shopping centre)

Partner up with people in a party, each challenge you complete gives you an extra counter at the pikachu with a hat, partner up in putting lures down also.

I'd say lastly, use raids in person as a good opportunity to meet people and walk with them so you can tackle the raids together and get a good necrozma!

So for me.

  1. If you're in a city, be aware of your surroundings at all times

  2. Food/Drink if you are going for it

  3. Comfortable shoes are a BIG must.

  4. External power banks and charging cables, my advice is at last two.

  5. Make sure you have room to add new Pokemon and remove Pokemon you deem as "useless"

  6. Self-care - don't overdo it. If you need to rest, do so, remember Constant movement will drain you, even if you feel fine, it's something those of us who go to the gym, are very aware of.

  7. Make sure you have the Poke balls ready, all types, collect them and of course, the potions :P

These are my tips for people. Hope this helps,

A

Self care is key, I use to play all 8 hours of these events in the past and feel so drained. Taking a rest at a coffee shop where there are pokestops means you can rest and not miss out on pokemon

The uk is pretty warm at the moment so if you are going out for a long time searching, water/drinks and a snack with sun cream can’t be underrated 🙌

Lucky eggs and incense are gonna be a huge help with xp so make sure you are stocked up. Same with different types of pokeballs, you never want to miss out when it’s really needed because you didn’t prepare ☺️

Take a friend with you to avoid any unwanted unfriendly interactions, especially if you’ve travelled to an area that you are unfamiliar with too.

All in all, have the best time!

preparation is key! I didn't prepare enough so I'm doing wayyyy too many microtransactions for storage and incense lol

My major tips are:

  • is to go through your all of your items and bin what you do and don’t need

  • Go through your Pokémon storage and do a clean up. Your gonna need as much space as possible

  • I’d say prep a month or 2 before if you want to try and earn some coins by putting your Pokémon’s in gyms

  • If you wanna buy coins you can do this but try and purchase some extra bag space and storage space

  • Heal any pokemon

  • Go through your gifts from friends and see if you get a lucky - if so hang on to this until event

  • Mega evolution to maximise your candies

  • Plan your route because the event can seem super overwhelming but try and focus on a 4 hours slot so 10-2 or 2-6

  • Put down all your lucky eggs at the start of the event to cover your time of play

  • Try to get 7k eggs only because of the event

I hope these will help! Good luck to you and your feet!

Charging strategy

My recommendation is to use a 45W+ rapid charge power bank (assuming your phone can handle that power). Instead of walking and playing the game with your phone constantly connected via cable, consider the impact of charging combined with CPU load, which generates excessive heat and can damage your battery over prolonged periods.

Instead, try a fast charge strategy: boost your phone from 15% to 50% in just 10-20 minutes. This reduces the heat and load on your battery. An extra bonus is that you get a guaranteed break every 2 hours to reduce eye and hand strain, grab a drink, take a seat, etc.

My buddy is a big PGo fan and has gotten the Go Fest experience down to an art. Here are her top tips:

  • Comfortable shoes - you're going to be walking around a lot with not a lot of places to rest up so be ready to stand and walk

  • Toiletries - it'll be outside so facilities may not be always available

  • External Battery + Charging cable - pro-tip is get a short charging cable. You don't want your cable loose and dangling around so around <1m would be best

  • If you're travelling to the country it is based then doing some research before hand for e-Sims is a must (this is probably the top tip) as if you don't have internet you cannot play or will rack up an expensive bill. Sometimes the event has Wifi however with everyone connecting, the connection can be spotty

  • Please listen to your body and rest if you need it. Hydrate, eat, rest repeat.

With the above you'll probably want a bag. Rucksacks are the go-to as they are comfortable using your whole back to support+ they are generally bigger. However I'd consider a sling bag/ over the shoulder one if you're walking a lot. It'll give your back the space it needs to breathe better

I made a lil video of things you should consider bringing with you for the event!

Great video! And you mean business! That’s a pro pokemon catcher right there!

Just keep walking, hence the GO!

Apart from the tips mentioned by other members, I also recommend picking a place free from cars and cycling roads. It's very easy to get sucked into the game and forget about reality.

1. Try to pick parks or playgrounds, where there is a lower chance that you will bump into something.

2. If you are catching something important that requires your attention, just stop and stand still until you are done.

I have some tips to prepare for Pokémon Go fest

1. Wear comfortable clothes that absorb sweat easily and wear running type shoes because you will be traveling far.

2. Bring a small bag that contains a power bank and charge cable, and sunscreen to protect your skin from the sun.

3. Collect as many Poké Balls, Great Balls, and Ultra Balls as possible and prepare enough Potions and Revives to keep your Pokémon healthy during the battle.

4. Determine an efficient route to pursue certain Pokémon and attend raid in the surrounding area.

5. Remove unnecessary items and transfer Pokémon you don't need to make room for new Pokémon and event items 5.

Hi Zeref_Vermilion, thanks for entering this bounty. Just to explain why we've rejected it: we found a number of these tips were very similar in nature and phrasing to the output from a popular generative AI. We can see that you've made some effort to make it more concise, but as explained in our AI policy, Just About exists to reward authentic human content, and even condensed, an AI's work adds no unique value to our community. Please re-read our AI policy and ensure your personal experience is the basis of your bounty submissions in future, or substantially transforms any prompts you might get from AI. Thank you.

I'm just using an app called deepl to translate my country's language into English is that prohibited?

Ford James's avatar

Hi Zeref_Vermilion,

Thanks for getting back to us. It's absolutely fine to use translation apps. However - given the prevalence of generative AI and the value that we put on original, authentic bounty submissions - when we're unsure if a bounty submission has been AI generated, we will usually assume that it has been. When some translation apps translate other languages to English, the translated text can appear robotic and AI-like. To maximise the chances that your genuine posts aren't mis-identified as AI-generated, there are several steps that we recommend:

  1. Be personal - relate your points to your real life experiences, memories, and feelings.

  2. Think outside the box - generative AI tends to produce generic answers; try to think up ideas that nobody else would have thought of.

  3. Let us know how you made your submission - in this case, identify at the bottom of your post that you've used a translation app. Or, if you're making an image, also share photos showing how you created the image.

Unfortunately, no system is perfect; some genuine entries will be misidentified as being AI-generated and vice versa. However, if you take your time with thoughtful bounty submissions which follow the advice above, you should be successful in future bounties. I hope that helps.
