A key part to the Pokemon franchise is catching Pokemon. But there is a fine art to doing this. You have to have a party of Pokemon of similar level to the one that you want to catch but not too powerful as to finish them off. You also need to increase the odds by inflicting a status effect on them, and then whittle away at their health points until only a pixel left and then throwing that Pokeball for a chance.

Suffice to say, catching Pokemon had become a fine art especially when it came to legendary Pokemon seen in the late game with powerful attacks and status effects. And going too hard on these beasts could permanently extinct them from your game.

So what are your stories of beasts you failed to catch? The ones that were a bit too tricky to obtain? Or the ones that got away?

For me it was always Tauros in the Safari Park. Not only were they rare to find but only using bait, stones, and the Safari Ball it felt like pure luck trying to catch one of those bulls as a kid
