For our first major guide, we're putting together a potent early-game kit for all Starfield newbies. As you take your first steps in the game, we want to know the best ships, weapons, and armour sets you find, as well as the best examples of any other essential equipment. Tell us what it is, what makes it better than the other early-game options, and where/how to get it. Anything that can be acquired from the starting game state is ideal, and nothing gated to the middling stages of a quest chain, or that takes more than a few hours to acquire! The most-upvoted community submissions and/or those we assess to be the best will be put together in a guide that'll help new Starfield players put their best feet forward from now until the end of time....
