Welcome, explorers! You are the co-founders of only the second game-centric community on Just About, and join our very first members fewer than three months after we launched into Alpha. You're also joining at the very start of an all-new game
Let's tell you a little bit about what you'll find here, why we're doing something so crazy as to launch a new community platform in 2023, and why we will - with your help - succeed.
Getting started
As well as Just About Starfield, you should be auto-enrolled in Just About Just About (or JAJA), where we discuss the platform itself. You'll find a(nother) helpful welcome thread there, but here's the TL;DR:
When you arrive in a community, you'll find a feed with a mix of content types.
These include discussions, which everyone is free to start and reply to (but please check our Community Code of Conduct and Core Values first).
There's also curated content, such as articles, which are created by the Just About team and, in the future, community members with the Curator role.
Curated articles are used to showcase the best of the community's discussions and achievements, and the best submissions to a given bounty (more on bounties below).
At the top of the feed you'll find buttons to filter it by article type, and sort it by date or popularity (or 'hotness').
You can connect a range of social accounts to your Just About profile; we don't believe in walled gardens and invite you to post content you've made elsewhere. It should all embed nicely.

Let's talk about bounties
We want Just About to be a different, better, platform to the many others which seem to take their communities for granted. The wit and wisdom of a platform's members is the most important reason they succeed, after all, and our belief that you deserve meaningful financial rewards in return for making your community great is at the core of our mission.
Bounties are one of the ways we deliver that.
A bounty might be posted to crowdsource your expertise, pose a creative challenge, make you laugh by gathering the best memes - almost anything, really!
Bounty posts will show up in your feed; several are live now, and you can click here for glimpse of what's coming up next.
Check the bounty post for the rewards on offer, the deadline, submission format, and everything else you need to know before taking it on.
After a bounty closes, we'll release the promised real-money rewards to those who made the winning submissions, and may gather them together in a curated article, video, photo gallery, etc.
During our Alpha phase the Just About team will create these bounties. We aim to offer a range of challenges that cater to all types of player, but if you have a suggestion, tell us! We want to work with you to ensure there's something for everyone, and you'll know best what kind of content you and your fellow players want to make and see. That's why later down the line we'll hand over bounty setting, moderation, and curation to the community.
Organic rewards
In our future plans for member earnings, we'll add bonus rewards for those who give their time to moderating and curating community content, and hope to share ad revenue with article or video contributors. Our plan is to grow by triggering a virtuous cycle: bounties and organic rewards improve the content and member experience in a community, which draws more members, who further drive the quality and scope of content, and so on.

What should I do next?
Take a look at the live bounties and have a go! Or browse the upcoming slate and set a reminder to return if you see something and think 'I would nail that'. You'll find a couple of discussions to get involved in, including a place to introduce yourself and meet the other co-founders of Just About Starfield (as well as the Just About team). If you fancy chatting about something else, go ahead and start the thread!
One last thing: we're in Alpha. You're our explorers. Things may break, others still need to be built. We've given a lot of thought to what these should be, but there's nothing like real feedback from a real community to hone our priorities. So report any bugs you find and hit us up, either here or on JAJA, with any and all suggestions.
