Like most new harddrive nowadays - wait til Apple makes it as then it'll be cool and modern and somewhat user friendly (that statement may need to be paired back seeing that the Apple Vision Pro hasn't really ticked those adjectives..)

But I am open to the idea that human augmentation is happening with more and more modern tech. Glasses helped us see, our watches helped us tell the time and now is our health tracker, and our phones pick up the rest so much so we are rarely seen without it. An AI tag will be useful - just those small conveniences of having it scan boarding passes, credit cards, contact details, or even short social cues that we don't pick up on such as I need assistance, I'm ready to order food, I don't want to be disturbed etc.

I just watched a Phil DeFranco video on this and I agree with him - they shot themselves in the foot not making this product communicate with your phone

Yup, think that last point is key - it doesn't communicate with your phone, nor does it have any apps available? So you can't order an Uber, use Spotify (because the exclusive music partner is Tidal, lol), get food delivered, etc. I think it's an interesting start, but the tech is miles off where it needs to be to make something like this commercially viable.

I never thought about it but to be connected to the consumer's default apps like Uber, Spotify, Deliveroo, etc. you'd probably need those connections and contracts which if you're branching out alone is probably a very hard sell.

But I do think the tech is there - whether Apple or Google wants to develop it with the risk of cutting into their phone market as a replacement. Then again tablets you'd think would cut into the iPod Touch/ iPhone market but it's now expanded to it's own thing

Or perhaps this marks the beginning of life without phones as we know them! I often wonder how our lives will look in ten years. Will we still be carrying these black boxes in our pockets? We're approaching two decades with minimal changes in this area - perhaps it's time for a significant shift!

In terms of AI, our phones are all we need at this point, anything else is just "I have money, look what I have" - Smartphones are all we need IMO

I hate this idea.

AI use should be limited and monitored but of course that means less money for the suits so 🤷🏼‍♂️ screw humanity I guess.
