Recently I got a new role at work and negotiated for WFH three days out of the week! Since I'm spending more time at home I thought I'd spruce up the office. I'm normally a somewhat active guy and I enjoyed the 40 minute walk to and from work through wind and rain as it let me de-stress and wake up a little before work (the cheeky latte on the way in is a great way to get into the good graces with boss too!)
I've been looking into getting a standing desk as a way of deterring the pull of being completely sedentary. They've been a lot more attractive recently but there's a couple of things that put me off firing on this:
The price. Most are in the triple figure range for a decently sized one i.e. >100cm x 60cm which is a little out of my price range. I have seen some decent ones on Amazon for around £70 which is quite tempting.
I have not seen a lot on local market places such as Gumtree or FaceBook marketplace going for sale despite Uni students moving outWhether I'd use the standing feature or not?
This is probably the most crucial as it's hard to tell if you'd use the feature unless you have it. I'd hate to purchase a standing desk and spend the whole time sitting down at it
So for those that have standing desks - what do you think? How often do you use the standing feature and lastly, (sunk cost fallacy aside), do you recommend it?
