That is an outrageous price point. Chuck in a stand and external disc drive and it's essentially £825 for a complete product. Before the price was announced, I was considering it, but not a chance at that cost. Would need to be sub-£600 including the disc drive to warrant picking up.

Sony & Microsoft & also the big publishers have really lost their way this gen for many different reasons (mostly as a result of chasing profit growth in a stagnant / declining market & the resulting decisions).

I feel there is going to be a huge lack of interest not just in the ps5 pro, but in both of their next gen consoles in a few years time with the way things are going. Not just due to price but the quality of output & the sense that most seem to be struggling to identify what the market wants/what will sell or even understand it at all (e.g Concord). Don’t ask me what it wants though, I don’t know either, but I know it isn’t this!

Nintendo have a huge opportunity to increase their market share massively with the switch 2 if their unveiling goes well & generates some actual excitement & buzz instead of disappointment.

Not too sure about the statement of chasing profit growth? - I thought all businesses want to see profit growth as a primary objective?

I think focussing on the failures of Sony down to just Concord is not seeing the forest for the trees.
There have been some great games this year: Steller Blade, Black Myth Wukong, Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, Astro Bot so focussing on the recall of Concord shouldn't negate this.

I think Microsoft also have a big chance at undercutting Sony as well. Similar in the case of Xbox One's disaster of an announcement when it was revealed to be always online, Sony was able to swoop in with the PS4

The price is completely out of touch with reality. Apart from the fact that the games haven't evolved enough to make a difference to a PS5 PRO, it's being forced by Sony and at an unrealistic price. I'm not even going to comment on the fact that it doesn't have a disk drive, what's the point of that? To make more money? That's not going to work!

What do you mean forced by sony?

Nope. And apparently it's caused quite an uproar in Japan, as it costs even more expensive there like $100 more than at conversion rates.

If someone skipped the PS5 and is happy with a digital edition then yeah go for it, but it's absolutely not worth swapping out a PS5.

So again like before, I'm only buying a new console if there is a new FF game being released on it, until then I'm fine with my PS5

& this is exactly why more and more kids are switching to PC gaming, the amount of my clients asking me to build budget gaming PC's atm is making me a fortune. These prices are outrageous in the extreme.

I am literally advising my clients atm to switch their kids to PC gaming.

I don't really consider PC gaming to be in the same sphere as consoles. Like Apples and Oranges. They are fruit but also provide different tastes, uses as ingredients in cooking, and nutritional value and in some cases they can be substituted for one another.

If you only had a budget for one then you'd pick one you prefer.

Consoles are multimedia centres designed for the living room rather than at a desk.

I’m still in shock at the price…. 😳

I just need to win a lot of bounties so I will be able to afford it.
