As is tradition, Two Point Museum just got a FREE winter update and it's the biggest seasonal drop yet, with several new exhibits across three new places of interest and loads of winter-and-Christmas-themed cosmetics. Check out the Steam announcement for all the details.
This is our usual reward to get you to show off the seasonal update by diving into all these awesome new goodies! Here's what to do:
Working from scratch, create a museum, or a large section within one, that channels the spirit of winter generally or Christmas specifically. You may also give one of your existing museums a thorough makeover with the new winter content, but we do mean thorough: take the opportunity to give your museum an overhaul not just cosmetically but in its layout, ensuring that it works as a fully themed and realised winter museum. As ever we reserve the right to reject low-effort entries, so while you don't have to build a whole new museum, you should do more than just throw down a couple of baubles in an existing one!
If you want to make a super-cosy or traditional Christmas museum we are absolutely on board with that, but the 'spirit of winter' can mean many things and we're open to many interpretations of the brief. You must use quite a few of the new exhibits and decorative items from the winter update, however.
Once you've made your wintry museum, make a video showing us around in good detail. Include either a voiceover or some subtitles (human voiceover preferred) telling us about your vision and how you've interpreted the brief, especially if it's not obvious.
Check out our spring, summer, and autumn museum contests for inspiration. Here's a word salad of appropriate wintry ideas to fire up your creativity: snow, ice, bare trees, tobogganing, fireplaces, hot chocolate, mittens and bobble hats and warm coats, fir and pine trees, glinting stars and lanterns in the dark, warmth contrasting with cold, elves and reindeer and Santa outfits, blue-and-white or red-and-green colour schemes...
