Bungie may have made headlines for winning legal action against a troll, but unfortunately it really doesn't make much difference when it comes to online abuse.
I've always hated the thinking that online abuse is just something you have to take on the chin, because there will always be a few bad apples, etc. I completely agree on this quote from Bungie.
"We don’t accept that being harassed is 'just part of life'," Bungie replied. "This kind of mindset is unhealthy, and we aren’t going to put ourselves in danger for a video game, much less Reddit."
We've probably all had abuse thrown at us online, for whatever reason and in different situations, so hopefully we can all relate.
Call me a hippy, or whatever, but I hope that we can do our best to foster a positive, welcoming, and friendly environment on Just About, you know?
Be nice!
