If the Xbox Series X /S was the fridge and the PS5 is the router, what loving nickname is this cylindrical Xbox going to be given? 😅

The bluetooth speaker?

I like the design, but they might need a new name. Does this count as a box?

I really do think it looks like a kitchen bin, it's just missing the foot pedal!

I still enjoy discs, especially since they're generally cheaper than downloading games from the official stores. On top of that, I've got a stack of 360 and Xbox One games that I don't want to have to repurchase, so it's kind of a disappointment to see them drop the bluray drive!

And that's not to mention the harm to game shops and second-hand shops :'(

Roll on cloud gaming so we can stop the upgrade cycle, the ewaste and use more efficient power sources I say ( solar powered datacentres etc). No local power costs of running local hardware. Developers just make what they want and whatever server farm resources needed are provided to make it run at your chosen FPS level or whatever. Sorted.

I know most people are dead against it but if you give geforce now ultimate tier a go you will see it's barely distinguishable from local hardware. Companies restricting what hardware platform you can run your purchased copy/license on are holding it back, if it wasn't for that I would switch today.

I do wonder how environmentally friendly cloud gaming would be to scale, how many servers they'd need running if everyone who current plays on console/PC is streaming.

More than that, though, in a world where cloud gaming is technologically perfect, I still wouldn't particularly like a third party being in control of what games I have access to. This is already an issue with music and video streaming. We either end up in a situation like with music, where your chosen platform has almost everything you want but there are some developers whose games you just won't play anymore, or worse, it could be like video where there's 20 different services to navigate and pay for and there's still stuff that you can't find. I'm not against streaming games as an option, but I'd absolutely hate for it to be the only one

Yeah that is the big problem and what will stop it ever really working out and taking off. It's a shame because I would gladly give up my power hungry noisy pc and the never ending upgrade cycle for a thin client style dumb device if geforce now just worked with everything like it did during the beta.
