That's incredible! I highly recommend watching the 🦇 Castlevania 🦇 series even if you aren't an anime fan.

Adi Shankar (the Producer) is involved in both the Devil May Cry and Far Cry series in the article, and he was Executive Producer on the Dredd movie.

Seconded. Despite the visual style clearly inspired by anime, these will all be US productions. I'm not saying this to be a pedant or an anime purist because I don't care for that level of gatekeeping; I mention it because this means it comes with a few differences, as evidenced by Castlevania:

  1. Nothing's lost in translation - English is the original language, so there's no miscommunication or re-dubbing when watching in English.

  2. It has a stellar voice cast - English dubs of Japanese anime tend to re-use the same people a lot (a bit like videogames), which isn't an issue here. Culturally, it's delivered in a particularly Western way, too. I personally find the exaggerated nature of some anime acting takes me out of the story.

  3. The story is lean - No filler padding things out as it waits for source material to catch up, and no over-the-top muscular people shouting at each other as they power up, describing their entire diabolical plan. Okay, that's a bit of a sweeping statement, but it's a huge pet peeve of mine with Shonen specifically.

This is a long way to basically say anyone should give the Castlevania series a shot. It's probably one of the best videogame adaptations around, alongside Arcane and The Last of Us.

This is so cool. I've never bought into animes personally, but i'm a big fan of the Tomb Raider games and i'll 100% be binging that one! :D
