If anyone remembers the awesome '90s stealth-tactics game Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines, this is a good day. If you don't: think isometric Hitman, but with a squad of specialist commandos in World War II. It was awesome, and we're getting an official all-new game in the series.
Besides the trailer above, Blue's News has a few more tidbits. Commandos: Origins will tell the story of how the original Commandos squad was formed, with "over ten" (so, eleven?!) missions set in authentic historical locations, from the Arctic to the African desert.
I remember covering Kalypso's acquisition of the Commandos IP, which had been dormant since 2006, back in 2018. The publisher-developer, which also makes the Tropico games, announced remasters of the classic games (which it has since delivered) as well as an all-new instalment. It's taken more than five years just for the reveal but I am still delighted it's finally happening.
