Earth in No Man's Sky

When you activate a save point in No Man's Sky a little hologram of a planet pops out of it.

I hadn't thought anything of it till someone on Reddit pointed out it was Earth, just tilted on an angle (almost upside down).

Now that I know it, I see it every time I use a Save Point. But for years it was right in front of me, without me noticing it.

The game also has an alien alphabet which has been deciphered and players can find fun messages on various objects now. It's only randomly used on some things.

This is proof that I am not upside down here in Aus/NZ.

As a lover of Cyberpunk 2077 and Phantom Liberty, plus as someone from Poland, I really appreciated this one. It caught me off-guard when I randomly head two people talking in Polish, and they even have unique products that reflect life in Poland.

For me it's the Hayabusa armour set from Halo 3, I still remember being on comms with the boys when we all unlocked it, us all screeching in triumph.

It really stands out amongst the other armour sets and if you were determined enough you could top it off with a Katana by achieving 1000gs.

I still sucked at Halo, but at least I looked cool ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

One of my favorite Easter Eggs I found when I was a younger gamer was the Talking Mudkrab Merchant in Morrowind. He looks just like a regular mudkrab, but he buys things at full price and has the most gold out of any vendor in the entire game! An absolutely legendary vendor to have in your back pocket. My younger self had a good laugh watching my little brother vaporize him with a fire blast, only to go loot his body to find a giant stack of gold.

There is an NPC in FFXIV called the Wandering Minstrel. He can be found at various locations and unlocks the Extreme / Ultimate version of certain fights. His appearance was based on the game's producer Naoki Yoshida. During the recurring The Rising event, celebrating the game's anniversary the Minstrel shows us a vision where our beloved producer has a message for the players, which I think is a very nice gesture.

I don't have my own video of it, but here is one from the 2019 event:

In Fallout: New Vegas, there is a clever little easter egg, near the town of Novac.

Near Novac, there's a refrigerator, with a skeleton inside, complete with a fedora and a whip! This is an easter egg to Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, where Jones survives a nuclear blast by hiding inside of a lead-lined fridge!

One of my favorite Easter eggs comes from Grand Theft Auto 5. The Ghost of Mount Gordo! At a specific time in game, around 11-12 at night, you can go up on the mountain and see the ghost. You can’t get too close to her unfortunately, or she will disappear. You can however look at her through your in game phone camera or through a sniper scope. There’s also a message written in blood by her, which writes “Jock”. Jock is a reference to Jock Cranley from Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories. This woman is believed to be his wife. Very creepy but very interesting! It’s so cool to see in game! There’s so much more to this story!

Edit: I’m having trouble uploading an image to this, but here’s a link to view what she looks like! https://images.app.goo.gl/iDo4hUwNy6Ub4EBy8
