My favourite Pokemon type is ghost types, and even when I play the games I pretty much exclusively use ghost types on my team.

My team: Pumpkaboo, Mumikyu, Mismagius, Chandelure, Hisuian Decidueye and Gengar. I used this website to create my card: https://tcm.pokecharms.com/

My favourite game is Legends Arceus, and while that game doesn't have gyms, in this make believe scenario my gym would be located in the Obisidian Fieldlands, specifically in the Grandtree Arena/Eterna Forest!

I would have a gym challenge/puzzle to be to take a picture of a ghost type Pokémon in the area (e.g Drifloon).

Type: Fighting

  1. Lucario - Fighting/Steel

  2. Hitmontop - Fighting

  3. Poliwrath - Fighting/Water

  4. Toxicroak - Fighting/Poison

  5. Blaziken - Fighting/Fire

  6. Iron Valiant - Fighting/Fairy

I chose a nice balance of dual types to help exploit any weaknesses my opponents have. I would start with sending out Hitmontop and in the unlikely scenario I'm down to a last mon, send out Lucario as my heavy hitter.

My gym would look like the dojo I train at, so a simple open space, square shaped with a pillar in the middle. Rubber mats on the floors and 4 punching bags dotted around on sliding chains from the ceiling.

I would have 4 single trainers before me at different belt classes, progressively gaining rank/difficulty.

The puzzle would require you to move all punching bags to the four respective corners of the dojo, I would then appear through a hatch in the floor!

My Gym would consist of water type pokemon (because I love them and Squirtle is the best!). I would want the gym to be in a sea side town and built out on the ocean like a pier or off shore fort.

The outside would be a glass dome with an underwater enterance. The inside would look like a luxury swimming center and would be made up of several large rooms each with a pool.

My challenge would be a series of surfing areas mixed in with a choice of whirlpool Transitions to other areas. The trainers would have to navagate the gyms rooms using pokemon with those HMs like a classic pokemon labyrinth.

I would have one trainer in each area with atleast one being the standard fisherman with 6 Magikap.

My team would be:

Squirtle: with a high defence from max use of Iron

Croconaw: with a maxed out attack from using calcium.

Gyarados: with alot of dragon attacks

Blastoise: with Surf

Golduck: with strong phychic attacks and debuffs

Vaporeon (with the odd ground move learned from Evee as a surprise for the electric type users)

Gym Leader Sparky:

had to include an ai gameboy style shot.

Sparky has spiky hair and if you look closely it sparks with static electricity. he has lightning bolts on his gym uniform and in true gym leader style he wears fingerless gloves and carries a custom-made staff that resembles a lightning rod.

Sparkyloves electric type Pokémon and believes they are far more powerful than they show they are. He’s a bit eccentric, often muttering about harnessing the power of thunderstorms.

Sparky's fighting style emphasizes speed . He’s known for his lightning fast decisions and unexpected strategies. They are challenge to any challengers.

His signature move is Volt Surge A move that temporarily boosts his Pokémon’s speed and special attack.

he often shouts feel the shock of true power. he doesn't really have any other catchphrases

Gym Name: Volt Shock Gym

Location: Vermilion City

Gym Appearance:

The Volt Shock Gym is a futuristic facility with metal walls with neon lightning bolt patterns on them. The gym entrance has a large electric sign that flickers with energy. Inside, the gym floor is a grid of large tiles, and the air hums with static electricity.

Puzzle:

Challengers must navigate a series of switches to power up the gym’s elevators to reach sparky.

Trainers to defeat:

I'm going to say sparky has previous experience in the navy, but left to become a gym leader. With him he took three sailors who also finished their duty.

Sailor A: A sailor who uses Water-type Pokémon. His Starmie and Tentacool provide an early challenge.

sailor B: A rocker with a Magnemite and a Dugtrio.

sailor C: The final trainer before reaching Sparky. He uses a high level Zapdos.

SPARKYS POKEMON

Magneton: It knows Thunderbolt, Tri Attack, and Thunder Wave.

Electrode: Electrode uses Thunderbolt, Swift, and Self-Destruct

Raichu: Thunder, Quick Attack

Reward:

Challengers who defeat sparky earn the Thunder Badge, granting them the ability to use HM01 - Cut outside of battle.

Fairy Gym Leader (late game gym)

Pokemons :

Grimmsnarl dark/fairy (light screen, spirit break, reflect, parting shot, light clay + prankster)

Ribombee bug/fairy (sticky web, moonblast, bug buzz, quiver dance)

Primarina water/fairy (sparkling aria, moonblast, misty explosion, calm mind)

Togekiss fairy/flying (air slash, aura sphere, tailwind, roost)

Tinkaton steel/fairy (gigaton hammer, knock off, fake out, play rough)

Gardevoir psychic/fairy (moonblast, psychic, shadowball, mystical fire)

The team that I made is based on a fairy’s tricks, since most would play games with people, hence ribombee’s sticky web and grimmsnarl’s screens.

**Puzzles & Layout :**The layout theme would be a fairy’s home, similar to a forest. There are 5 areas of the gym, 4 for trainers and the final for the leader. When the challenger arrives at the center area, the four areas would be the south east, northeast, northwest and south west. At the center of the room would be a circular device indicated by statues of the four tapus surrounding a Xerneas. The four rooms will unlock after interacting with the xerneas statue.

The challenger would have to collect 4 gems after defeating the trainers in each area of the forest and interacting with the pedestal inside. Every area would have an extended misty terrain always activating and a sweet scent at the first turn. The final area would be unlocked after putting the 4 gems in the statue of the four Tapus at the center of the middle room where the device would open a secret door at the north.

Trainers :

  1. Alolan ninetales + galarian rapidash (southeast)

  2. Floette + mawile + Sylveon (southwest)

  3. Dedenne + shiinotic + mimikyu + clefable (northwest)

  4. Hatterene + grimmsnarl + dachsbun + alcremie + granbull (northeast)

oooh. If I was a Pokemon Gym Leader I’d deffo have a variety of Eeveelotions on my team.

Start with Glaceon, Flareon, Sylveon, Vapoureon and Leafeon. I would have atleast 1 type and give each one the ability to cover 2 types of Pokemon. IE Flareon = fire but had 1 dark move ect.

To be able to battle me I’d say you’d need to catch up to 5 Eevees and evolve it to 5 different forms of the eeveelutions.

The gym itself I’d have it on top of a mountain so it can experience all types of weather conditions. So when it’s glaceon it’s cold and icy, the. Flareon is really hot ect

A

I would definitely be using the electric type for for my typings and my gym would be located in the power plant in Kanto. I wouldn't use the trash can method like LT Surge, mine would be 4 trainers battles in the power plant and as you move forward past the trainers you will get shocked from traps in the power plant, lowering your pokemons HP after each battle

I absolutely love pikachu so my team would be as follows

Pichu Pikachu Raichu Alolan Raichu Gorachu (This was initially Raichu's evolution!)

Then finally I would absolutely need Zapdos as the final and 6th pokemon. A legendary pokemon and it's in the power plant where it is initially located in the Gen 1 games

My Pokemon Gym would consists of Dark Type Pokemon as we need more dark type gyms. The theme of the gym and gymleader would revolve around dark heroes (like Batman, Ghost Rider, Blade, DareDevil, Cloak, or Moon Knight), or heroes who were originally evil/meant to be evil but use thier powers for good (such as Batgirl/Orphan/Cassandra Cain, Kamen Rider, Hawkeye, Ultraman Geed). Essentially being a “light in the dark”.

My team would be of the following:

  1.  Lokix - Bug/Dark.

  2.  Zoroark - Dark.

  3.  Greninja - Water/Dark.

  4.  Umbreon - Dark.

  5.  Meowscarada - Grass/Dark.

  6.  Absol/Mega Absol - Dark.

The Location of my Gym would be in a city which used too have a high crime rate but now is quite peaceful. The gym would be a stadium or areana, similar to the gyms in the Galar Region. However in order to enter the gym and challenge the gym leader, you have to find the secret entrance which changes everyday using the clues that are given to you.

My puzzle/gym challenge would be navigating through a dark room using a torch and lighting at least 4 lanterns. Each lantern is guarded by a trainer (the gym leader’s “sidekicks”), and once they are all defeated and all the lanterns are lit, you can challenge the gym leader.

I have always chosen the fire starters so I probably would have a fire type gym.

Gym Type - Fire

Gym Decorations lots of red/yellow - Flame murals/statues

To proceed through the gym the trainer must beat the 3 trainers to obtain the 3 fire emblems needed to access the final area where the gym Leader is.

Trainer 1 - Hot Head Henry -

Pokemon - Growlithe, Vulpix, Ponyta

Trainer 2 - Pyromaniac Paul - Slugma, Pyroar, Camerupt

Trainer 3 - Fire Eater Frank - Torkoal, Simisear, Talonflame, Centiskorch

Gym Leader

Any trainer that defeats the gym will earn themselves the Sun Flame Badge

I'm going with a Steel Type Gym

The Gym is going to have an industrial look to it.

There will be a steel maze to get through before the trainer reaches the gym leader and in this maze there will be 4 trainers to also fight

Trainer 1 Pokemon Magnemite, Aron Trainer 2 Pokemon Magnemite, Mawile, Metang Trainer 3 Pokemon Magneton, Bronzong, Excadrill Trainer 4 Pokemon Ferroseed, Klang, Bisharp, Honedge

Folks, just want to say I love the amount of creativity and effort in all your entries for this bounty! This will make for some wonderful curated content and I reckon we'd have a sublime Pokemon Just About game if Game Freak were in need of some gym ideas.
