gonna be immense! Also wouldn’t be surprised if this slipped! Which I’d be cool with, I want the best product possible!

Oh absolutely! I wish more people took that view rather than getting angry with delays.

I'd far rather wait a little longer so devs have the time to make the game they want without having to crunch.

It's been a long time coming. Here's hoping it's worth the wait!

I'm kind of glad actually. GTA launches feel like a landmark moments in games, much like Halo, Diablo, Final Fantasy etc.

If they released on shorter timeframes then I feel it would diminish the experience.

That's not to say annual / biennial release titles aren't good games (Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty, Mario etc.) but for me they fill a different need.

The annual / biennial titles feel more experimental in their design or incrementally improved, whereas the others are cultural moments. That's just my take and I'd love to hear what everyone else thinks 🙂

I've got extremely high hopes for this one. As far as I'm concerned, GTA as a franchise doesn't miss. At least in terms of quality. I'm certain that they will miss that release date so I look forward to playing it in March 2026

They really don't miss do they? It's funny that the physics and NPC behaviours can be all over the place in games like GTA and Elder Scrolls, yet they're still these cultural landmarks.

We've asked about where future GTA should be set but I'm curious about what stories they can tell. They tend to focus on the US (except GTA London!) and the wiki lists Scorsese films, Miami Vice, The Sopranos, Scarface, Boyz n the Hood, etc, but where else could they go?
