I haven't played much of them but my wife has played all three and loves them.

I agree, graphics have come along way and are almost perfect in many AAA games.

The thing I think developers should be focusing on now is polish. Making sure games are actually finished, no bugs, no frame rate drops etc so the whole game experience is perfected.

totally agree! I think Nintendo is an amazing example of this, as the lesser hardware of the Switch means lesser graphics but damn they make up for it with amazing games, gameplay and polish!

Interesting you mention development time - it took around 3 years but probably built off the back of the prequel so I think the development was quite long for this game.

I do agree when it comes to graphics that there is a threshold that I enjoy too! Though it's mainly down to 'realism'. I think the more realistic a game looks the clunkier the gameplay normally is. God of War is a good example with Kratos in the PS2 trilogy being a lot more nimble compared to GoW remake and Ragnarok where he is more bolted to the ground.

Yeah I personally love when videogames look like videogames lol peak for me is like the arcade style of the Sega AM2 machines

It would certainly be nice if they would work on the polish instead of just more pixels nowadays, at least for a while. Game sizes are getting stupid crazy (100-140GB for one game? C'mon!) Some of these companies need to learn what compression means again before they should be allowed to use more graphics.
