Dystopika - a cozy, dark, and surprisingly relaxing game that leaves you with a sense of foreboding.

Dystopika is a city-building game with no limits - no population, or resources, just you and the freedom to build whatever you like.

We've see commentary about games that tell a story, sometimes with their landscapes.

What about games wherein the player builds the landscape?

With Dystopika, you can design your own city however you want. You can make districts, factory sectors, run-down areas, high-class spots, whatever you put your mind to.

And in doing so, the work considers the eternal question of "why?" When you review Dystopika, and the screenshot capture contests, you can reflect upon asking the question of "why."

What is the motivation behind this high-class district?

Why is this pyramid building towering over everything else? Who owns it? Does its owner subjugate the people in the city?

Why did this area of the city become a slum?

Why are there walls isolating all of the factories from the rest of the city? Who are they trying to keep out? Who are they trying to keep in?

With Dystopika, you don't need anyone to tell you a story - you create the story, in your own mind, through the city you build, through the images you capture and show off to the world.
