Wednesday is traditionally new comic book day at many local establishments. I'm unsure why but it is! It was a bright Wednesday in the UK and I was due to catch up with an old colleague so I went down to my local comic book store. I've been frequenting them for close to 21 years now and they've dutifully been reserving every variant, comic, and series they can obtain from previews world.
This year I've started collecting Power Girl since her runs are generally quite limited so I won't be sinking a whole lot of money into the series. X-Men '97 also has a series that serves as a prequel to the recently concluded animated series.
Do people still have a local comic book shop? Is it an independent or is it a larger chain like Forbidden Planet or Travelling Man? Lastly do you collect individual issues or trades (Trade Paper Back - TPB). I think now I'm adult I prefer individual issues for the collectable component and I love the guest artists that do the variants though as a child I know I'd prefer trades since its easier to swap with friends
