A lot of people of people have heard the likes of Iron Man, Captain America, Thor etc but this week for Marvel Monday we will be taking a look at a lesser known character Professor Orson Kasloff also known as Asbestos Man.

Professor Orson Kasloff

Professor Orson Kasloff was a brilliant scientist chemist that was consider to be one of the best in his field around the world but he felt that his work didn't earn him enough money so he instead turned to a life of crime but after his first burglary failed due to forgetting about the alarms he decided to seek out criminal allies, After unsuccessfully contacting anyone in the underworld he decide to try make a name for himself by defeating the young Human Torch, Orson bought a castle and made his suit from Asbestos becoming known as Asbestos Man.

Asbestos Man

Asbestos Man managed to defeat the Human Torch on his first attempt but on their second meeting Human Torch defeated Asbestos Man and he was taken to prison. He tried to rob a fast food restaurant, now carrying around an air canister due to having survived cancer, probably due to the suit itself, but was annoyed to find the cashier was afraid of him because he was wearing asbestos and feared for her health.

Asbestos Man would eventually run into The Great Lakes Avengers but due to Asbestos Man not wanting to actually fight and the GLA not wanting to touch him they just stood around for hours until they all gave up. It was Mr Immortal who eventually got him to surrender after promising Asbestos Man that he would be remembered as one of their villains so he wouldn't be forgotten which was a fear of his, The GLA refused to take his mask a trophy though and he was taken away by a hazmat crew in an ambulance.
