There's no doubt that Stories are an incredibly popular and useful part of platforms like Instagram and, more recently, TikTok, but now Twitch are getting in on this.
Mobile users will now be able to share short-form content on a temporary basis, helping to keep audiences engaged even when the content creator isn't streaming.
Does Twitch need Stories, or are they just following the trend? Is this something you'll use to engage with your community?

I think it will give rise to a more engaged twitch follower.
A lot of my community activity ends up being on discord, so the twitch followers that are not on discord "lose out". Having the ability to share macro scale shorts etc, i think would lead to a more engaged twitch follower.
I think this is a good idea... just need to work out how it will work for me in my day to day usage!
I can definitely see me using it more (as the audience). I don't always have time to sit and watch someone stream for hours, but being able to check in and chat would be great.
It makes it feel more social. There's still the concern of 'if you weren't there then you missed it' as the stories only last 48 hours, but I suppose that's part of the magic...it's a moment you can share with your friends and most engaged followers.
They might be following on the trend but it does look like a useful tool. Will see how it works out. I don't quite get it though why is it restricted to partners and affiliates only? It could be a good tool to help creators who are getting started to find a way to engage more with their followers or gain new ones. Especially people who are limited on streaming time due to still having a full time job, this tool would be great to do more regular content. They might not have time for a full stream session, but could fit in more of these stories into their schedule.
Probably one of the reasons why I have high hopes for Just About compared to other platforms is that you are made to feel welcome from the first moment, and no matter how long you have been here, there are opportunities to get started with, which then encourages you to do more. Sometimes on Twitch and Youtube I feel like what is even the point to try, the goal to get affiliate or partner seems to be unachievable for a very long time which can be discouraging for a lot of creators who are just trying to get started now.

It does seem like the stories functionality would be useful to smaller creators. I can only hope it's for partners and affiliates as a way of running a more public test. Fingers crossed it's opened up once they've got all the bugs worked out!
Could be that it's a public test, that would make sense. Will wait and see, hopefully it will be available for more people... or I just need to find more time to stream and work for that affiliate XD
It'd be great to have a community-led post in Video Games and/or Content Creators where people share their streaming schedule for the week. 🤔
So the post could be a 'post your schedule and links below' sort of thing, then everyone can get involved. It might be a slow build, but once the platform grows I'm sure it'll really help people connect!

I do that when working from home XD It's a really great idea, I'm just working on the official announcement material for the new stream session I planned. Once that's out on my Twitter, I'll start the post (unless someone jumps on it quicker) and share my schedule.
