Agree with EveOnlineTutorials social networks are already too dangerous, such features making them a perfect tool for bad things. I think the current Google Maps and various messengers' GPS-sharing features are sufficient.

seems ok idea if you use social media just for friends but a very bad idea if your a content creator due to multiple safety and security issues I see arising with the is.

I think if we're thinking security there are many more private apps that can provide this location feature.

If it is an automatic feature and not a thing you opt in to I could totally see parents not realising their child's location is public even if it just to their friends.

Sometimes I feel a bit fear mongery for thinking stuff like this but it is important to consider.

It doesn't come across as fearmongering. Privacy settings are so important, and we shared a Thursday Thoughts post a while back about it. Hopefully it won't be on as default and the user needs to be over 18 to turn it on.
