For me Final Cut Pro is the best. It's incredibly intuitive and I think I watched one 15 min tutorial explaining all the different features of it, I felt I could video edit anything.

There's actually also browser based software for editing. After my computer stopped updating - it meant I was locked out of a lot of software but I had found:

  • Flixier to be an amazing website for editing videos. Again really intuitive for just splicing together clips, audio adjustments, text overlays etc.

  • PhotoPea - my photoshop saviour. I heard that GIMP was the best photoshop alternative but if you're used to photoshop especially the hotkey/ key bindings, muscle memory is a hard one to overcome. Photopea keeps all the same bindings, takes PSD files, and I've also been able to upload fonts I needed for typesetting.

Just popped in to check that Davinci is top in the free category :D I tried loads of different apps before I found Davinci and it is miles ahead of any of the others.

It sure is. And by quite the margin! 😁
