Since its bitty, gritty early days, EVE has been enjoying a constant 20-year makeover. As we, its fans, become a little greyer and a little more wrinkled, it only becomes more beautiful. With the opening of Zarzakh and the launch of Havoc, we decided it was time to challenge our community to capture some of that beauty. We launched a Zarzakh screenshots bounty and a Havoc screenshots bounty, and the images below are our favourites from both.
We’ll start you off with JAKEL33T’s stunning image of one of the ancient Jovian stargates that kicked off this latest saga.
Next up, we have Kane Carnifex and pals putting on a fireworks display to celebrate the rise of the Angel Cartel.
All of the following shots are of Zarzakh, an area with a unique visual, sound, and narrative design. When FUN INC first popped in to take a look, he was taken aback: “It’s not like anything that I’ve seen in EVE before! The solar flares are a particular treat to watch out for!”And here’s another from the same trip. “Be sure not to get too close to the edge!”
“I decided to go check it out for myself.” The three Zarzakh shots below were all submitted by Rixx Javix as is the cover image at the top of this article. Were it not for the ominous structure emerging from the darkness, the light here could almost make Zarzakh seem like a hopeful place.
Of course the true nature of Zarzakh is one of chaos and danger. The swirling vortices of the system capture it perfectly. And Rixx perfectly captures them.
This final, eagle-eyed shot of the Fulcrum feels especially sinister. It reminds us of a tripedal squid-walker from The War of the Worlds emerging from a cloudy sky.
Do you have a Zarzakh or Havoc screenshot to share? Add it in the replies and be sure to let us know which screenshot bounties you want to see next!
