In my opinion one of the most important things to remember when being leader of any corporation is to not trust anyone. When I say anyone I say about in-game politics where mostly power, money and how many people you have decides how much you can get, i say even to not overtrust your corp members! In that term, yes of course, there has to be some trust in between but never give to one guy too much acces to to manny corp assets! What I mean by that? They can led by their greedines to betray you corp for their own good. They can be paid by other corp to lock acces to your holdings to other corpmates and other corp has in that case very easy way to capture your system!

I am going to answer this honestly.

Running an Eve corporation with more than 50+ active members is a full-time job, especially when a corporation is a multi-activity corporation. Things include

  1. Industry

  2. Asset management

  3. Tax Management

  4. Activity management

  5. Constant recruitment

  6. Mediation between members

  7. ISK spending management

  8. Fleet command management

This list goes on and on. My advice to anyone running a corporation or wanting to is to make sure this above list, is something you can do.

Personally for me, when I ran a 500+ man low sec newbie PvP corporation, we led a simple life, the bottom line is, that the corporation existed to serve the corporation, and attending ops i.e fleets was an "if you're online, you're in the fleet" no excuses.

Looking back at my time in Eve, I am surprised to see that I spent pretty much half of my Eve life in a leadership position for my corp. It's always interesting to see how these bounties make me observe and even rethink some of my habits!

In our smaller group (<50) I would call our discord server one of the most important community tools. People can interact, show off on the killbot and post jokes. Nevertheless, it is also highly useful for pings and announcements.

Something more leadership focused is our weekly corp mail. Every Monday, I sent a mail to the corp talking about our planned fleets and actions for the coming week, as well as some updates on our space (FW) and possible events. Even though our fleets take place on a regular basis and often there is nothing special to tell in the mail, I had several people tell me they liked reading the weekly messages. It gives a sense of activity and community to our group. It is of course some work, but an active leadership reassures the players and can certainly benefit the group. For myself, it forces me to keep track of what's going on and helps me avoid tunnel vision. I can certainly advise this tool to young and smaller groups. Maybe it even works with large corps, but I have never been a part of an organisation like that, so I can make no statement in that area.

In the end I would like to add, that leading a group can take a lot of your Eve time and even feel like work sometimes, but the reward of good trustworthy pilots that stand together against the odds is really worth it!

That's the moment when the corp is here for you.
We grab your hand, calm you down and then we blow this bad ass chunky cat back into space heaven.
1 Year later you hold the hand of a beginner blowing npcs into oblivion within a blink of an eye.

Abyssal?
Grab a ship from the hangar, ping in discord and we bring you from T1 into TX Netflix and Chill.

So under the line it is the combined knowledge and money which makes a community so powerful.

Without a doubt, managing a corporation is a challenging task that often goes underappreciated. As a CEO, I want to share some tips and tricks that I use to make my work a bit more efficient:

  1. Leverage Alliance Tools:
    Make use of the tools provided by your alliance for player management, such as auth or SEAT, to maintain better control over player participation in an easier way.

  2. Incentivize Fleet Participation:
    I encourage participation by awarding prizes to the three members with the most fleet participations:

    • 1st Place: 500M ISK

    • 2nd Place: 300M ISK

    • 3rd Place: 200M ISK
      You can adapt this system or create other types of rewards that suit your situation.

  3. Encourage Passive ISK Generation:
    For instance, I provide everything needed to start planetary industry, including the ship and command centers. A constant source of ISK helps members achieve their goals and fosters greater satisfaction.

  4. Utilize Corporate Projects:
    I use projects for small-scale programs, such as buybacks or purchasing station fuel directly from members. These initiatives create opportunities for members to contribute while benefiting the corporation.

With these tips, I hope you can develop new strategies to improve the well-being of your pilots and simplify your corporation's management.

Managing a company in EVE Online is quite complex, in the sense that it must be organized in a certain way. What we need is to think about strategy, leadership and adaptability. To manage a company we must go by points. The first thing to do is to have a vision and an objective of what we will do. We must define short and long-term objectives and communicate to those who will work with us what these objectives are to be achieved.

Then we must have tools that will support us in what we are going to do, discord is essential for faster communication. There is also Eve portal which is useful for monitoring activities and checking the performance of individual components.

We must invest in the team, alone we don't go anywhere. We must create an inclusive environment where we help each other and grow together as a family.

And then we must organize periodic meetings where everyone participates and we look at what has been done, the objectives achieved and the next ones to be achieved.
