There's a ton of great South Korean films but my recommendation is action-horror Train to Busan!

this is such a cool idea. Have you chosen a German film yet?

Knockin on heavens door was one if my favourites growing up. It is German speaking as well.

no i haven't! the only German film I've watched is Christiane F. (which is such a sad film!) so i'll definitely check it out!

oh I don’t know that one. I’ll add it to my list. :)

definitely be warned it is a veryyy heavy film - so much so I would class it as a horror film Horror and Cats may have the final verdict here though!

I'm so glad you decided to share this in the end! I love this project! A few more recommendations:

  • Iran: A Separation

  • South Korea: Parasite

  • Mexico: Roma

  • South Africa: District 9

  • Ireland: The Banshees of Inisherin

  • Sweden: The Seventh Seal

  • Japan: Rashomon

Another excellent South Korean suggestion. And a third: Old Boy.

My favourite fight scene in any movie (definitely went on to inspire the Daredevil TV show) but do not confuse it and watch the US remake. Its got nothing on the South Korean original.
