I don’t typically rewatch shows. I prefer to wait for an all-season release and then watch it all in one go. On rare occasions, I revisit something, usually from my childhood, to gain a new perspective. For example, my most recent rewatch was Columbo. I watched it with my 12-year-old daughter. While the show can be a bit silly and lacks tight story twists, it offers a fascinating glimpse into everyday life, cars, interiors, technology, and cultural behaviors of 1970s-80s America.

Life’s too short to spend rewatching - there’s so much out there still waiting to be discovered!

Totally agree with the sentiment of not re-watching things (unless you're showing it to someone new) or background watching

I don't rewatch full series or shows. But funny this should come up.
My wife and I were watching Yellowstone. But it has been so long since we seen the last episode we had to go back and skip through the last few we watched to refresh ourselves with what is going on.

I think it depends on the genre, release schedule, and number of episodes. Drama / sci-fi / fantasy shows with high tension and a relatively low number of episodes merit a rewatch, particularly if they leave a year or more between seasons.

Examples: Rings of Power, American Gods, House of the Dragon, The Boys, Halo (RiP)

Comedies, low-stakes shows, or shows with high episode count per season have to be amazing to earn a rewatch, otherwise I'll just carry on from where we left off.

Archer really became a commitment but I go back to it every now and again.

I've been meaning to watch What We Do in the Shadows but haven't got round to it. Have they just released a new season? I'm about to finish Rings of Power S2 so I'll be looking for a new show soon!

I'm not exactly sure when the newest season ended but I saw it was there on Hulu and as always decided to start from the beginning. Matt Berry in this show will literally never get old. Also they are only 10 episode seasons and half hour episodes, so it's really not too wild to revisit it every time lol.

I have only ever done this once and its for the Boys!

I'm usually against re-watches but Arrested Development is an exception. Probs the only show that gets funnier with time as they layer so many sight gags, audio gags, in-jokes, and call-backs, it's probably best finishing it and then watching all over again
