What shows/films ended in ways that are hard to swallow, but if we're honest with ourselves, was the ONLY way it really could have ended?
I'd say the ultimate fate of Walter White from Breaking Bad is a good example. Even a modicum less bleak just wouldn't have felt right.
Hereditary (2018) and Buried (2010) are also great examples where anything else just would have cheapened the journey.

ngl I hate when shows end prematurely i.e. creators can't negotiate for more seasons therefore have to mess up the pacing of the final season or worse leave some plot lines un-resolved.
What is worse is when the show continues longer than anticipated and it ruins the good will of the previous stories and can lead to 'Flanderisation'
