What shows/films ended in ways that are hard to swallow, but if we're honest with ourselves, was the ONLY way it really could have ended?
I'd say the ultimate fate of Walter White from Breaking Bad is a good example. Even a modicum less bleak just wouldn't have felt right.
Hereditary (2018) and Buried (2010) are also great examples where anything else just would have cheapened the journey.
