Genuinely I thought since the release date was April this was some kind of meta April Fools joke. It's not.

This film clearly misses everything we loved about the game. This is an epic, unmitigated, utterly unforced error.

It looks, as with Cabin in the Woods, the group is assailed by various trope-laden villains and beasts, this time in a time loops where they must survive "until dawn."

There will likely be a few redeeming factors, but I'm calling it right now this is a very confused production process culminating in flaccid, teen-scream execution.

The game was a movie you could play and played out in dozens of different ways.
