Any predictions on what the change will be?

After Twitter started paying their 'high value' members, I can't help but wonder if Reddit will take a similar approach?

Apparently people have seen things in the new api documentation that says for the USA they will be introducing tipping eventually. Haven't bothered looking into it to verify though, just going on the comments on that thread.

Edit: seems everyone got it from this story.

I'll certainly be keeping a (very) close eye on this one! Thanks for highlighting it...

I'd noticed that they phased out the daily free awards. It was disappointing at the time.

I think reddit is enjoyable without these rewards. The simple act of upvoting new and decent content or comments is a very easy to understand concept and reddit was able to capitalise on it over Digg (RIP) by separating it to individual subjects and spaces i.e. subreddits
