My response is to have some patience, it is in Alpha, there will be bugs and it will happen. This is the internet after all and not everyone is "nice" about certain topics or opinions. So auto moderation is fine and if the post is fine, it will be posted.
Of course but if we don't give any feedback and report bugs during the alpha then there is no point to the Alpha test.
100% Agreed
The most recent one will be because it's about the 100 steam decks to be won on steam watching the video game awards while logged into steam (then the link to a similar legion go giveaway). I can understand why that one looks sus, but the stuff about Fortnite that keeps getting blocked is odd.
Yeah, the Steam promo post did indeed get flagged for 'promotional content' so it's quite nice to see the system works! It's now been approved.
And totally agreed: reports are really helpful. JAutoMod is very much an MVP at the moment but we'd rather it was slightly over zealous, and keeping the platform nice, rather than letting through absolutely everything and causing us headaches of a different kind!
We're going to fine tune what gets moderated and what doesn't, plus in later versions we'll look at how user's who build up their reputation on the platform perhaps are able to post without as stringent checks as new users, etc.
We've also got a few bugs to squash, so right now it's pretty harshly scoring most posts that have external links in them, which should be sorted soon... we're also building up a whitelist of auto-approved domains for legitimate sites, so it'll improve automagically over time too.
